fete A tour to Europe is a way Miss Aronson would like to spend her ideal summer. She taught one year in Bemidji and one year at Grand Meadow. She likes the friendly people of the community, but thinks BVHS would benefit if there was more concern on the part of the students for what is happening at school as it is it relates to their future. Her home town is Ellendale MN. where she grew up with three brothers and two sisters. She attended college at St. Cloud University. Her pet peeve is students not bringing their books. She plans to teach a few years then possibly work in computer science. FACULTY Mr. Sagehorn's from Bertha MN. He thinks that Browns Valley could benefit more without the extra curricular activities of soaping and egging after school. All right who was throwing eggs at Mr. Sagehorn? His pet peeve is kids wandering the halls that always have a place to go but never get there. He plans on teaching until something better comes along. Linda Aronson Science Thomas DeWitt Science Scott Sagehorn Industrial Arts Mary Shauer Home Economics Mr. DeWitt was born in the town of Worthington, MN. with his two sisters. He went to college at St. Cloud, MN. From there he applied for a science opening, which he had an interview, and with a stroke of luck, I landed the teaching position. Changes that could benefit in Browns Valley, is more money in the school budget. He likes outdoor sports, animals of all kinds, and music. He also likes the friendly people, beautiful country and good hunting of Browns Valley. He would spend his ideal summer vacation backpacking in the Cascade Mountains of Washington. Plans on staying for awhile, teaching and working at BVHS. His pet peeve is people that won't make an honest effort in school and give up too easy. 3 ,y .1 --'fi.: Her small size doesn't quite fit her enormous personality. Miss Schauer likes the friendliness of Browns Valley and wanted to teach in a small school system. One of her pet peeves are people who are always right. She plans to teach a couple more years then get married and have a family. She likes outdoor movies, even though it is hard to see over the dash. 21

Mr. Engberg decided to except his teaching offer in Browns Valley because he liked the countryside and people. He was mostly impressed by Big Stone and Traverse Lakes. He grew up in a large family of eleven in Detroit Lakes MN. No wonder why he likes the lakes so much. He went on to college at Moorhead State University. He enjoys reading, athletics, and camping while traveling around the country. He believes the school could benefit by a new gym and facilities for the band. His plans for the future are to either continue teaching or perhaps go to a law school. Mr. Engberg is married and has two children. His son David is seven and his daughter Robin is one. He directed two plays, was assistant wrestling coach and head baseball coach. Mr. Dawson went to Evangel College Springfield MO. He picked Browns Valley to teach because it was close to his home town Moorhead. He likes the community spirit, and plans to continue teaching as long as it is rewarding. He thinks BVHS could benefit by doubling teachers salary. For amusement he likes to do all kinds of sports. His pet peeve is people who are quitters. His ideal summer would be spent in Europe. Bruce Dawson Social 9,11 Lynn Engberg Language Arts Keith Haggerty Phy-Ed Social 12 Jim Johnson Language Arts SECONDARY Mr. Johnson loves to travel and just anything that has to do with outdoor activities. He grew up in St. Paul MN., with one sister. He enjoys Browns Valley because of the Natural scenery and friendly people. He went to college in Moorhead and then recieved his job at Browns Valley. His pet peeve is (Get This) EAR WAX! His plans are to get his masters degree and teach at college level. Mr. Haggerty is a man who enjoys all kinds of sports. He says though that hunting is his most enjoyable pastime. His hometown is right here, good old Browns Valley. He's married and has two boys ages one and three. Making the football, wrestling, and track teams top notch is one of his future goals. If you meet him in the halls or have him for class yout get the impression that he's quiet and not easily riled; But from what the football team says he can really yell when there's something to yell about.

Mr. Mortimer was born in Arlington S.D. His family consisted of five. Madison S.D. was where he spent his college years. Location and size played a great part in his decision to teach in Browns Valley. His pet peeve is people who are not willing to try to improve themselves and their community. Changes which would benefit BVHS would be the discovery of self pride. He would like to spend his summer doing nothing with a little fishing sometimes. He enjoys spending time with his family and has hopes of owning his own hardware store. Miss Spaudes hobbies are raising horses and skin scuba diving. She teaches pre- beginners to Sr. Life Saving for the past six summers. She also coaches an A.A.U. swimming team consisting of boys and girls from ages 8-18. She enjoys any kind of outdoor activities. Her home town is Brownton, MN. Her family consisted of two brothers. She likes the friendliness of the faculty, students, and community. She decided to teach here because of the familiarities associated with her own home. Her pet peeve is students saying I can't do it. She plans to acquire four years teaching experience and obtain her masters degree in SLBP-LD Secondary. Then go on to teach at college. SECONDARY Brenda Spaude SLBP Dan Mortimek Music John Lee Art Sharon Selander English 1, Library Miss Selander is a person who likes to take one day at a time. She loves the beautiful scenery and friendly hard working people of Browns Valley. Walking, reading, playing scrabble and doing crossword puzzles is her favorite pass time. Her pet peeve is people expecting her to have a pet peeve. She grew up with two brothers and two sisters in Foley MN. She went to college in St. Cloud. Mr. Lee started teaching here by first signing a contract. The school is what he likes best of Browns Valley. The college in which he attended was Concordia College, Moorhead MN. He grew up in a family of three boys and three girls in Thousand Oaks. His pet peeve in the word Can't. He enjoys just having fun and getting crazy. Benefits for Browns Valley he says would be consolidation. He would like to spend his ideal summer by doing nothing and still be able to make money. He plans to get a masters degree and wants to get fulfillment out of life.
