Now, twelve years later, we take a long look back and laugh and sometimes cry at the things we have gone through to- gether. Some of us, we find, have gotten taller, and some a little bit smarter, but one thing is for sure: we all have gotten a lot closer. If Mrs. Duffield and Mrs. Coresbreck could see us now they would wonder how we have ever become as great as: athletes, singers, actors, comedians, scholars, humanitarians, and most imporantly, the greatest of friends. During our first year we learned many things. Besides the 3-R's we learned the Bathroom Code, and how to pass notes effectively, oh yeah, also how to use a scissor correctly, (without poking your eyes out!) By May, the teachers figured we learned enough, so they decided to let us go. Free at last! But never fail, in September we had to return. In our second year we lost four friends: Diane Thorson, Robert Raw, Ervin DuMarce, and Joan Skjonsberg. But to make up for it we gained seven: Richie Spindler, Eugene Ziemer, Bruce Bierschback, Robbin Hanes, Colleen Thompson, DiAnne Philen, and Robert Rollins. During the second grade we all learned that ever-popular song do-re-mi. The same Year Marvin Witte got a color crayon stuck in his ear. That year went fast and we found ourselves already in the third grade. We remember when Mrs. Herberg told Chantel Gubka that if she didn't quit sucking her thumb, she would have to sit in a high-chair. That was so funny! Oh, yeah, during this year we moved to our new school. It was beautiful! Before we realized it, we had two new members in our little club , Wayne Sheldon and Pat Hisgun, this made up for the losses of Cecily Stapanek 'and Darrel Renville. Boy! we're in the fourth grade already! We gained four new classmates here: Neil Madison, Phedora Wilson, Renette Reed, and Silvia St. John. But we lost De Schueller and Robbin Hanes. Boy this was an exciting year! Wayne Sheldon got his head stuck in the desk, and Patty Foster put a tack on Mr. Goodhart's chair, and Jullie Bigelow stole the show by throwing up all over her desk. Before we got to the fifth grade we lost Lisa Arseth, Phedora Wilson, and Pat Hisjun. But we gained Gail Mayer. In the fifth grade we learned how to draw ears and things. We never liked that year. Yeck! Here comes sixth grade already. One year left until high school! How exciting! Mrs. LeCuyer and her mythology and Mr. Zinter got laranjytis. That was the extent of excitement that year. High school, hurrah! We made it! We gained two new classmates, Danny Neubert and Bruce Peppersack. But we lost three of our group: Ray Larson, Wayne Sheldon, and Gail Mayer. Our first class officers were: President - DiAnne Philen, Vice-President - Diane Smith, and Secretary-Treasurer - Pat Serocki. This was a pretty exciting year. At our first class party Dennis Dobbs put his hand through the bathroom window. However, it wasn't all that bad: we did many exciting things in Mrs. Nudell's English class. Finally, this eventful year was over. Eighth grade came with a bang. They were working on our new school at last. Our class officers: President - Dan Nubert, Vice-President - Steve Piechowski, and Secretary-Treasurer - Julie Miller. We were all so happy to welcome Harlen Crawford to our class. The thing we remember most about the eighth grade was all the time every time everyone spent in Mr. Ness's office, especially Jullie Bigelow; it was her second home. The end of the year came and we were still all alive. Goody! The ninth grade was very eventful, we gained Curt Quesnell and we were also in our new school. The school was beautiful to awkward freshmen who weren't quite sure where to go. The junior-high football team knew where to go though. They were undefeated. What happened guys? Our class was lead by: President - Dan Nubert, Vice- President - Jack Hoffman, and Secretary-Treasurer - Chantel Gubka. Our Student Council member was Larry Birnbaum, and our Homecoming attendants were Jack Hoffman and Diane Reinart. Of course all of us enjoyed Algebra I immensely. By the time we were sophomores, we knew the ropes pretty well. Our class officers were: President - Dan Neubert, Vice-President - Colleen Thompson, and Secretary-Treasurer - Paul Kaufman. Our Student Council members were Kevin Ingemunson and Renette Reed, and our Homecoming attendants were Colleen Thompson and Paul Kaufman. Biology was by far our favorite class. We remember the day Steve Piechowski got water poured on him and had to go home and change. No one was safe that year amidst the flying pins and all that water! I will never be able to forget Dan Neubert's scrapbook in Miss Otto's English class. May finally came, bringing a lot of happy teachers and sad mothers. We hit our junior year with a storm, lead by President - Colleen Thompson, Vice-President - Patty Foster, Secretary-Treasurer - Kevin Ingemunson. Student Council members were Larry Birbaum and Colleen Krone, and Homecoming attendants were Julie Miller and Jay Ulferts. Our new members were Dennis DuMarce and Jay Ulferts. Our theme for prom was A Time for Us. We shocked everyone with our beautiful prom scenery. It was a time of sadness, too, for we lost one of our members, Bruce Peppersack, in an automobile accident. Our year as juniors finally ended. Now we are mighty seniors! We gained Pat McCaskell and lost Dennis DuMarce. Our class officers were: President - Paul Kaufmen, Vice-President - Larry Birnbaum, and Secretary-Treasurer-Peggy Roark. Colleen Krone was President of the Student Council and Renette Reed was our other member. Our Homecoming King was Paul Kaufman and his attendants were Jack Hoffman and Larry Birnbaum; our Queen was Colleen Krone and her attend- ants were Peggy Roark and Patt Serocki. Larry Birnbaum took fourth place in Regional wrestling tournaments, and Jeanne Domarus took honorable mention at the District one-act plays. Our class colors are silver and red, our class flower is a red rose, and our motto is Knowledge is the key to Peace: Peace is the key to Life. In the future, we will look back and remember these happy years, and with those we have shared them: teachers, friends; and above all classmates who individual qualities and special talents will bring back pleasant memories of our years at Browns Valley High School. CLASS WILL I, David Reinart, will Jerry Biel the ability to get along with Mr. Schroeder. I, Pat Appel, will to Janis Bartz the ability to talk and play clarinet at the same time and never miss a note. I, Galen Roark, will to Keith Lewandowski my teflon-coated gut bucket, my silver plated fish skinner, and my new but slightly used four year rubber pants. I, Renette Reed, will Catherine Thompson my Saturday night at the Ranch in hopes she will have as much fun as I did. I, Roger Schwagel, will Berent Klemm my driving ability since there are very few people in this world with the ability to park on somebody's front steps. I, DiAnne Philen, being of sound mind, will Diane Kuschel all my favorite parking places near home, and hope she doesn't get stuck. To Paul Serocki and Don Sykora, who already have their Polish blood as an asset, I, Patt Serocki, will to these two fine Polocks the ability to remain sound and sober after any family celebration. I, Dan Schildt, being of sound body and mind, will to Bob Raw my ability to stay out of trouble on Saturday night and restrain my attraction toward the opposite sex. I, Nancy Ann Hansen, being possessed with all the wisdom of Solomon and the strength of Atlas, will you, Robert Edward Gubka, all my muscles in hope that you use them to the best of your ability. I, Dennis Dobbs, will my good nature and ability to have a good time to the Colosseum to Robert Gubka and hope he will keep the place hummin'.
