NOT PICTURED Kevin Bennett and Dean Ballhagen CLASS HISTORY In 1959, 39 eager, willing to learn kids entered the Browns Valley Public Schools. With the time we became older and in 1966 we entered 7th grade with a total of 43 students. Our class officers were: Pres. - Sherry Jarman; V. Pres. - Mike Hoffman; Sec.-Trcas. - Mike Appel; and Student Council - Janet Smith. In the fall of ‘67’ our class declined in number to only 40 members. Dennis Lot .cr, Tim Senecal, and Jane Wilson left our class. Our class officers were: Pres. - Randy Beumer; V. Pres. - Bob Peterson: Sec.-Treas. - Danny Spindlcr: and Student Council - Mike LcClair, Randy Beumer and Janet Smith received the 8th grade Legion Award. Onward to ‘68’ our total in members was 39, Sherry Jarman, Kathy Rollcns, and Dennis Myhre left our class but Kevin Bennett was a new addition to our class. Class officers were: Pres. - Vicki Spotts; V. Pres. - Janet Smith; Scc.-Treas. - Mike Appel; and Student Council Linda Schwagel. Our Homecoming attendants were Janet Smith and Mike Appel. With the loss of Leola Nigg and with the addition of Les Sheppard our class now had a total of 39 students. Mike LcClair, David Nudell, and Bob Peterson were our class officers and Janet Smith and Mike Appel represent- ed our Sophomore class on the Student Council. Our Homecoming Attendants were Pat Falkingham and Danny Spindlcr. We entered the 11 th grade still holding 39 members. We lost Kevin Bennett and Les Sheppard but added Chuck Ritter and Mike Selvage to our class. Student Council members were Jan Smith and Bob Peterson. Rick Krone, Dana Medbery, and David Nudell were our class officers. Homecoming attendants were Peg Jones and Mike Sel- vage. Ginnic Bigelow and Randy Beumer were our Girl and Boy Staters that year. Our Prom was the highlight of our Junior year. IN A GADA Dl VIDA was our theme and different pastels were our colors. We started our Senior year on August 31, 1970 with a total of 36. We lost John Sheppard, Chuck Ritter, Den- nis DuMarcc, Gale Nigg, and Mike Selvage. Kevin Bennett and Kathy Watkins joined us as fellow Seniors. Home- coming was October 16 and our candidates for Queen and King were: Joanie Meyen, Janet Smith, Claudia Roark: Mike Appel, Jerry Johnson, and Danny Spindlcr. Janet and Mike were chosen as Royalty. Being full of energy we presented the play “They Went That A-Way”, a 3 act comedy. Finally on May 28, 1971, the Senior Class of ‘71’ said good-bye to all its faculty and underclassmen with this thought in mind, “SUCCESS IS NOT GIVEN IT IS EARNED.” 54 55 CLASS WILL I, Peggy Jones, will my loyalty to present myself at the Ranch on Saturday nights, to Renette Reed. I, Pam Mutchier, will my position at the White Eagle Ballroom to Bruce Schwagel in hopes that he will get there safely, and home in time for church on Sunday. 1, Debbie Kuschel, will Pat Eldridge my seat in the library in hopes that she uses it more than 1 did. 1, Vicki Spotts, will to Pat Appel and Diane Reinart all my good times on Saturday nights. I. Donella Foren, will Rachel Lumphrey my ability to get along with Beardsley girls, in hopes that some day she will. I, Mary Meyer, will to Shirley Meyer and Diane Smith my favorite booth at the Ranch in hopes that they will warm it often and have as many happy times as 1 have. 1, Ginnie Bigelow, will my noon hour patrolling to my dear sister Jullie and friend Colleen Thompson. 1, Bonnie Hein, will to Charlene Gubka my ability to sing and to take my place in chorus so it will not deteri- orate after I have gone. 1, Linda Schwagel, will Kevin Ingemunson (my brother) the ability to make it home safely and stay out of trouble at all times as he will probably need it. 1, Roger Eldridge, will Bruce Peppersack my ability not to drink on week-ends and week days. I, Dean Ballhagen, will Steve Piechowski the ability to get along with Miss Bird in fourth hour art class. I, Kevin Bennett, will Thomas P. Hoffman my ability to stay out of trouble and not get kicked out of Marriage and Family Class. 1, Danny Spindler, will Paul Kaufman the ability to maintain a great, attractive, masculine body like mine. 1, Jan Smith, will to Denny Dobbs all my parking spaces in hopes that he uses them as often as 1 did. 1, Mike Hoffman, after experiencing the free life, will to Jack Hoffman the will power, the ability to control a 50 Honda Step-through Chopper and a card, in hopes that he will get to the Black Hills and put them to good use. 1, David Nudell, will to Mary Metz, the ability to go to Christmas Parties and not tip over Christmas Trees, or other stationary objects that get in her way. I, Greg Haggerty, will to DiAnne Philen my 54 Pontiac in hopes she will be able to keep tires on it. I, Bob Peterson, will to Dan Schildt something he has never had, SANITY. 56 I, Mike Appel, will my ability to survive Jeff Lubber’s Birthday Parties to Julie Miller in hopes that she does a better job than I did. I, Joyce Duehr, will to Patt Serocki, the ability to keep my mouth shut in hopes she will keep the dirty pollock jokes to herself. 1. Gerry Grimli, will Neil Madison my ability to do good work. 1, Marlene Reineke, will Jean Dumarus anything she wants as long as it’s something 1 want too. 1, Dennis Dean Grosenick, in a state of temporary insanity, will Tom Hoffman my teflon coated fish pail, in the hopes that he will skin more fish and smoke less. 1. Joanie Meyen. will to Pam Kaufman the right to use my favorite parking spot at the drive-in, after this sum- mer; in hopes she will have as much fun as I did. 1, Linda Kallstrom, will to the County Crew my ability to do some work and to attempt to get along with the teachers; even though it seems almost impossible. I. Mike LeClair, will to Larry Birnbaum my spot in room 200 at the Holiday Inn hoping he uses it properly as I did, to sleep. 1. Claudia Roark, will to Peggy Roark my ability to listen to a lecture of Mr. Mediger’s without understanding one word that he says. I, Rick Krone, will Dennis Dobbs the ability to take Miss Huffman seriously even though it is a great strain. 1.
