CLASS HISTORY During the school year of 1963-64, the mighty Freshmen class of B.V.H.S. elected their officers as follows: Presi- dent-Jake Thompson, Vice-President-Vicki Schwagerl, and Sec- retary-Treasurer-Joe Serocki. Jim Hoffman represented our class on the Student Council. School began on August 28 with a Freshmen class consis- ting of forty-one. Mary Nigg entered school in B.V. as a Freshman and Bob Melcher entered school on January 17, 1964. Ed Nettestad moved to Browns Valley from Fergus Falls, Minnesota and be- came one of the great forty-one Freshmen attending Browns Valley High. Our Homecoming attendants were Pat Rowland and Vince Smith. During our Sophomore year Jake Thompson was elected as our President, Jim Hoffman as our Vice-President, and Ginny Hansen as our Secretary-Treasurer. Ed Nettesatd and Vince Smith represented us on the Student Council. John Tracy left our class and on November 30, Silas Ortley enrolled as our thirty-ninth student in the Sophomore class. Our Homecoming attendants were Ginny Hansen and Ed Net- testad. During the 1965-66 school year we elected Greg Mutchler as President, Rick Schley as Vice-President, and Jim Hoffman as Secretary-Treasurer. Our Student Council representatives were Mike Domarus and Jerry Metz. Paulette Roark left our class during this school year. Christy Bigelow was chosen as our Girl State Represen- tative and Jim Hoffman as our Boy Stater. As Seniors, Carol Gettman and Kathy Plant left our class. A new student, Abigail Crawford, joined our class. Jim Hoffman was elected President; Vicki Schwagerl, Vice- President, and Kathy Dusing, Secretary-Treasurer. Mary Nigg was our Student Council President and Gloria Appel, Secre- tary-Treasurer . Our candidates for Homecoming festivities were: Queen Candidates-Gloria Appel, Kathy Dusing, and Christy Bigelow. King Candidates: Mike Domarus, Jim Hoffman, and Jake Thomp- son. Kathy and Jim were chosen to reign over the festivi- ties. Vicki Schwagerl was selected as our All-State represen- tative. Our concert band received Superior ratings at both District and State Music Contests. In November we exhibited our acting abilities in the Senior class play. Much hard work and devotion went into the play to turn out a fine performance. We closed our Senior year with thirty-nine very proud and eager young adults, ready to star in the lights of to- marrow's bright future.
