For the first time in many years, BVHS captured the Subdistrict basketball title and trophy. By defeating Clinton and Chokio, we won our way into the district com- petition. Chokio won the runnerup title, and Beardsley captured the oonsolation crown. BVHS shared the conference championship with Beardsley; both teams had a 10 win, 2 loss conference record. Coach Gay Johnson’s boys completed the entire season with a 17 win, 3 loss standing. The 1959-60 school year will probably go down as the best athletic year in BVHS history. Titles and championships have been captured in every sport. Last spring the track squad set new school records and won many important meets, some of which involved competition from much larger schools. The baseball team won all their scheduled games; the football squad was undefeated for the first time in school history. In the wrestling field, Zacharias won his way into the state meet. With the basketball title, BVHS has had an outstanding athletic season which may never again be equalled for a long, long time.
