PROPHECY Ten years hav9 gone by and here we ride into Browns Valley to find that it ie completely de- serted. The reason? Who knows. No, why did we say completely deserted, there is still someone here. We hear oots and oans from oyer yonder. Can you actually imegine it? Mary Belle Hess was given a promotion '—she is now chief cook and bottle washer in Agar's Cafe. Well, we stopped to chew the cud with her for awhile and she clued us on the latest facts. Richard Piechowski is down in Mexico supervising roaster fights. Snow is to winter as roas- ters are to Dick. Every class has musical talent, so we find that Janice DeSpiegler has made the top. She star- ted at the Ranch and is now working in Hollywood for the famous movie producer Roxanne Backer. Jan's latest hit is There Stands the Glass. One of the people in the headlines these days is scientist, Clarence Grlmli. He has, at last, invented what every woman wants---A MANJ This could be a rumor, but they say that Roger Haanen is in Progsvllle, Texas. He owns a largo Ballroom, at which place his special menu consists of the fine delicacy, Prog-Legs. Checking further on this ballroom situation, we find that he has three stage shows a week. To- night the famous comedian, Corinne Westmai starring in A Mechanic's Life. Bill Moeller, better known as the human fire eater, has resigned to the greater pleasure of herding sheep or rather, goats, in the Swiss Alps. (Notice to the Missing Persons Bureaus Doris Edwards, well known cowgirl of KMYD T.V. has mysteriously dlsapoeared. It is believed that she has taken up farming somewhere between Browns Valley and Wheaton. Her reliable ranch-hand is believed to be her sister, Betty.) Lyle Lecuyer is in critical condition after a thrill-seeking ride with Tom Hanson. While coming home from visiting a friend named LaVerne in Sisseton, So. Dak., they smashed into a mov- ing van. The van wasn't damaged, but Doc Verna Kallstrom is afraid she will have to amputate Tom's head without anesthetics. Janet Olson, who writes an article for the Snipe Tribune, is working hard for a raise. They say everyone should have the ability to start from the bottom and work up. She is about to enter the basement. To the end, friends must stick together. The skilled shoemaker, Jack Witte, has moved his shop to' Progsvllle to be with Roger. Just give that man time! One of these days he will own a factory of his own. Oh, the happy thought to be rich! Congratulations, Kevin'q However, he worked for every cent of it. In 1953 he was still working in the Valley Theatre as projector man but today he has his own theatre. He located it in a town that had never had a theater, but needed one badly, PFEVERJ We knew for sure one of those good-looking '58'ers would be a Cover Girl, movie star, model, or T.V. Starlet! Janet Lubbers has done Ju3t that. She is now Cover Girl for the Native Post. Noone will believe this, but the brain , Kenny Lehrke, has failed us. He is still hot-rodding up to Sisseton every Saturday night. At one time there were great clans for that guy, but women have caught him in their hopeless grasp. Wonderful, wonderful., Vernon Kliendl has obtained a Jot a3 a bartender at the Ranch? Exper- ience Vernon? Oh Yes, from the table to the mouth. That man is going far in this world. Quiet, but there, Larry Cardwell is now president of the Lonely Hearts Club. No wonder he is building up a fortune. He has found friends for more than five people. Lonely? Send your name to Larry Cardwell, Box 25, Loverville, Florida. Success—success—success—how does that man do it? Ronnie Hanson is now Chief of Police in the city of Los Angeles. Catching criminals and enforcing the law is all that's on his mind J;hese days. His leg was broken last week when dangerous Tillie KcGoon shot at him. This only stands to reason, he standing for only law and order. (A changed person from 1958.) And now before we leave you for our journey back to Nowhere, we should like to let you know that Albert Starr, formerly known as Skippy is now head undertaker at the dog pound. A sad job but Skip is good at expressing sympathy. So ends our visit to Browns Valley in the year of 1968. Next year, however, we'll be back a- gain to check on the CLASS OF 1959. 19 WRITTEN BY THE JUNIORS
