24 SECOND GRADE Mrs. Waynar ' s second grade class was ecology minded, completing science ori- ented projects. They purchased shrimp eggs and watched most patiently — for eight year olds — to see what would hatch. They also devoted much attention to ob- serving the spinning of a cocoon. Planning and presenting a puppet show next occupied these erstwhile scientists. Perhaps the show told how a young mother went in search of a baby shrimp to deliver a message . . . BOTTOM ROW. 26 THIRD GRADE Keown ' s Kids include Rebecca Morgan, a champion ice- skater, Scott Higgins who does local commercials and has an agent, and Chalie Livingston who has won numerous awards and ribbons for gymnastics; but to Mrs. Keown all these third graders are special. The class took dance lessons at U.N.O. and visited the Calder exhibit at the Joslyn. They collected money to buy a class Christmas tree and spent several hours caroling in B-T ' s Fireside Room.
