Physical change is normal can anyone remember not seeing a construction crane towering above the campus? But building hasn't kept pace with people. Conflicting prior- ities have been created which must be resolved the Rock, the Grad Center, and the art building stand in embarrassing contrast to Rogers Hall, Faunce House, and the West Quad. Progress is a necessity, but selective progress can sometimes be self-defeating. 10
