JOAFL MOWH ,Lf if We derive great pleasure from the dedi- cation of the 1953 CIELITO to two who stand as examples of ideal wornanhood, who through their deep faith and effort in upholding the high standards of Christian living have set for us a goal worthy of only the most expedient of personalities. This profound achievement has, without a doubt, been another illustration proving true the quotation, Behind every great man there is always a great woman. They represent the prototype of Chris- tian rnotherhood, having children of their own, and performing splendidly their re- spective roles of Mother and First Lady of

It is with this quotation in mind. that the theater has been selected as the theme for the 1953 Brown School for Girls annual. Our school is the stage upon which the drama is enacted. The distinguished author, Dr. Iohn E. Brown. our founder. has selected Dr. Iohn E. Brown, Ir.. to produce the play. With our superintendent as director and the principal as stage manager. the show has been crowned with success. The stage staff. Mrs. Deloris Bubna. Mrs. La Bula Bratton and Miss Elizabeth Brown. our oiiice personnel. maintain things running smoothly backstage. Our teachers as dramatics coaches have educated us in expres- sion and charm: the Dean of Girls and housemothers. our art and technical directors. have charge oi the cast in general and of their problems in particular. And last. but by no means least. we have the maintenance and kitchen stafi composing the property crew. So. we possess on our beautiful campus a concordant group of people who live harmoniously together and in the outstanding fulfillment of their various duties create a masterpiece out of the drama of liie. This being our premiere presentation we shall begin by intro- ducing our guest Stars. p

Although f ew oi us have met them personally, all oi us know them through the exalted precedent they have established for us by their wonderful char- acter, complet e understanding, sympathy, and remarkable maturity and wisdom. The Brown School for Girls trains youth to live. Graciousness, charm, and culture, as well as other characteristics that are a distinction of a well-bred young lady are emphasized, and we are elated to devote this annual to two whom we feel have not only attained, but mastered these and many other virtues of mother, wife, and above all, s ublimely-souled, lottyeminded and high-mettled ladies. it-f' Wm.
