KLICK KLUB Destined to be the most inactive club on the campus this year, the Klick Klub was organized the first part of the fall semester to encourage and to teach better picture taking. Lots of pictures have been taken, but it is difficult to estimate just how much improvement was accomplished by the club. As expenses in photography have in- creased considerably, it was impossible to participate to any great extent in the many phases of photo making and developing. BIOLOGY CLUB Mr. Thomouu Mr. Young KLICK KLUB BIOLOGY CLUB The members of the B.S.G. Biology Club have disproved the idea that only men can possess scientific minds. To prove the above statement, read further. One fair day in September, the club went on an expedition up into San Gabriel Canyon to explore water life. Some of the club did their collecting from the shore while the braver ones went bcating. This was a very profit- able trip. Some of the specimens ob- served were fish, ducks, dragonflies, algae, and of course, male homo sap iens tages l7-195. To you anti-biologists, the latter means boys. Excitement reached its peak when Mr. Young, the club sponsor, became sea sick and the girls had to take him to shore. Another activity was their club break- fast which was really most scientific. The most modern cooking methods were used. The coffee and hot chocolate were made in beakers over bunson burners, and although they hated to break their record, they were forced to fry the bacon, eggs, and waffles on the proper equipment. Other activities included visits to Griffith Observatory, La Brea Tar Pits, and the Marine Museum at Cabrillo Beach.

DELTA SIGMA TOASTMISTRESS CLUB The Expression Class organized as the Toastmistress Club, patterned after the international organization with din- ner meetings once a month at which time members had practice in after din- ner speaking, impromptu speeches, toastmistress practice, etc. These meet- ings were thoroughly enjoyed and great improvement was noticeable as the members overcame their timidity. Besides sponsoring the Thanksgiving banquet, the girls spoke in chapels, assemblies, and worked diligently to eam their Toastmistress pins which were available only after members had attained their three hundred points for various campus services. Smith DELTA SIGMA Delta Sigma is the honor service club. open to members of the Toastmistress Club who have earned three hundred points for campus services. The cov- eted pins are worn only by girls whose conduct has been exemplary, and whose grades have been of B average. A little white envelope slipped under a door, set many a heart fluttering as the lucky recipient read the invitation that gave her the right to wear the pledge pin. After two probationary weeks, this pin was replaced by the Delta Sigma pin, providing she was able to pass the strenuous tests of the pledging requirements. The beautiful initiation ritual is given before the student body and friends, and is a high moment in a girl's life on the Brown campus. This year's pledges were Io Anne Statler, Norma Kreimerman, Hildegard Spahr with Celia Sod and Lucila Llau- sas as candidates for later pledging. TOASTMISTRESS CLUB

Themeau GIRLS' ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION We the members of G.A,A. do or' dain and establish this constitution for the purpose of furthering interest in Athletics, and creating supervised athletics. This year's G.A.A. has tried to live up to their constitution by taking steps forward on the path of athletic achieve' ment. Several girls have earned their pins and letters. These awards were earned at the rate of two points per hour, by participating in various sports. A total of 150 points was required for a letter and an additional 50 points was required to entitle a girl to a pin. Some of the activities engaged in were intramural tournaments, volley- ball, basketball, and baseball games, Also, more individual sports such as hiking, and swimming which included an aquacade. TRIPLE V CLUB TRIPLE V CLUB In order to promote cultural knowl- edge and understanding of the Latin and Spanish influences in our world, the Triple V Club was organized this year for students of Latin, Latin Amer- ica, and world history by Mrs. Orcutt and Mrs. Rogers. Their motto I came, I saw, I conquered is the English translation for the Latin Veni, Vicli, Vici. On the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at six in the evening, the club has enjoyed a variety of pro grams and friendly association and fel- lowship. Although the charter mem- bership was small, other girls came to seek and enjoy the benefits offered by this new club, Mrs. Young GIRLS ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION .-nissan:
