Front: Marks, N., Myklebust. Organized late in the year, the Science Club met informally and elected no officers. Members were privileged to attend lectures pre- sented by outstanding men of science. During several weekly meetings, open discussi-ons were held on the foremost scientific events of the past year, centering largely around space travel.

At the beginning of each school year a memorial s'ervice is held in honor of those cadets who gave their lives defending their country. At the close ofthe solemn triloute, members of the rifle team fire a volley over the memorial plaque. This year the team participated in the State Regional De War Rifle Match at Oceanside, California, in which Cadets Richard Boyen and Leslie Hughey placed first and sixth, respectively, out of seventy- tive riflemen from twelve schools. CHESS CLUB The Chess Club was started when a tew players got together and played in groups. It is a very informal club whose only meetings were over chess boards and whose endings tor the most part were Checlcmatel The Roolcs main objective in this club was to improve their chess games We all thanlc Mr. Malow, our sponsor and friend.
