Thse were three of the live gaines in region play. and the ones that counted. Next. llrown played Sylvan for Southside honors, but lost out, climaxing the season with a very close game. lfddie Harris led the Rebel scorers with a season total ol lil TD's and led the city with H306 yards rushing, He was third high scorer in the city with a rushing average of 6.3. Charles Willis, the quar- terback and brains of the team, was next HAROLD HOBGOOD . . . R. Hallback with il 'l'D's, three rushing and one on a pass. l.:-Hoy Hamilton scored on a pass caught in the end zone during the fateful Sylvan glaine. Billy Hattaway, captain. was awarded the title of l,ine-man of the VVeek Over the en- tire state. Other valuable players in the line were Frank Clarke, Cary Smith, Richard Fair, l.elloy Hamilton, Ronny Mulcare, and Hobby Farmer. Several boys who did well this year and should do even better next year are Sonny RONNY MULCARE . . . L. Guard lleard, Jimmy Cook, and Floyd Caden- head. At the annual football banquet this year, Billy Hattaway was awarded a trophy for Most Valuable Linernan and Eddie Harris and Charles Willis were awarded duplicate trophies for Most Valuable Backs of the Year here at llrown. COACH PEEK SAID: Wllhis team has gained more yards rushing than any team weive had at Brown since the '49 State Champs, and they are the most cooperative and easiest boys to coach l have ever had in my ehargef' BOBBY FARMER . . .
