BROXVN-MARIST ill-01 Shorty Doyals powerhouse did it again. and this time Brown was at its top physical and mental peak. Marist moved all the way for a touchdown the lirst time they had the hall in their possession, carrying the hall 'S yards in l2 plays. with Rhino and Teitz doing most of the carrying. Teitz scored from the two with Rhinos placement wide. Marist scored the final score on a pass from Hansford -lones in the last minutes of the lirst half with Rhin-is placement again wide. Brown rallied in the second hall to hold Marist scoreless. Bohhy ,lo Anglin was the out- standing lineman with Rhino. Teitz. and Knighton the best backs. BRUXYN 94--BASS 6 lt seemed to many people at Brown that the tity was still wondering whether or not Brown had won the city championship hy luck. As if to say whats what, Brown started off with Gene Kinard taking the hall from the kick-oil to go all the way, hat the store was nullified hy a clipping penalty. late in the Iirst quarter Brown moved down from its ow n nineteen to within the storing range, from wliith they stored in the lirst of the second period, with Charley Brannon scoring from the fhhfl. Bass stored soon afterwards on a hlocked kiek from the forty-one, with George Burns doing most ol the carrying. tinally scoring from the three. Brown tame hack strong in the second halt. On the lirst punt exchange Brown pushed steadily down to score with Clyhurn doing most of the carrying. A pass interception was turned into a score hy Pepper Rodgers. who passed to Clyhurn from the ten after a drive from the forty-three. On another pass interception, Brown moved from the Bass forty-one to score on a throw from Rodgers to Kirk for eighteen yards. On a third interception hy Thwwaitt-s. who ran it hak from the sexenteen to the thirty-tive. Rodgers threw a sixfyard pass to Bohhy Smith for the linal score.

A sterling performance was turned in by Cecil Trainer, who caught two touth- down passes thrown by Pepper Rodgers, the quarterback, for 40 and 51 yard dashes respectively. Smith was the first to score on a 16 yard pass to W. A. Skelton, end. This put Smith ahead T-0, after a placekitk was good. However, Brown scored on a 40 yard pass ro Trainer. Smith roared right back on short runs and passes to Skelton. This placed them on the l yard line, where Conrad Moon pushed it over. The kick made it I i- . Brown then evened the score by going 6' yards with Hunsinger and Brannon running ll and ZA yard runs respectively. Pepper Rodgers scored on a quarterback sneak form the l. The Rebels were stopped in another drive by Skelton, who recovered a lateral. The third score came on the second long pass to Trainer.
