The 1987-88 Brown County High School cheerleaders Rachel playing to the crowd. The Varsity and J.V. squads did an outstanding job at their summer camp this year. Participating in the Universal Cheerleading Association's Camp at Carbondale, II., they won the trophy for Best Over-all Squad throughout the camp. This honor was given to them because of their spirit, confidence, and cooperation throughout the week at the camp. All of the cheer-leaers are very proud of their trophy because it has been several years since the last trophy was given to B.C.H.S.

The cheerleaders at B.C.H.S. have went through some changes this year, but they are still on top. They started out the year by changing the number of young women they had on the squad. Increasing, from 5 to 8 in junior varsity, and decreasing from 6 to 5 in varsity. After this, just before the football season went into full swing, they received a new sponsor, Bonnie Sorrels. Over the summer they spent one week at UCA's (Universal Cheerleaders Association) summer camp in Carbondale. Illinois. At the camp they won various ribbons and the most outstanding squad award, which is the highest award that can be obtained at UCA. Although they finished their cheerleading season with basketball in the late winter. They have their cheerleading tryouts for next years squad every spring. Leslie Kropp, Jennifer Boyer, Rachel Wade. The varsity basketball team had a fair season this year with eleven wins and sixteen losses. They had one win and five losses in conference play and made it to regional finals. The Sophomore team had eight wins and twelve losses, with the Freshman team having ten wins and fifteen losses. Almost everybody enjoys a good game and fans love to see the results of the players hard work and stamina play off. Our teams have given us many great memories.
