 1987 was the first year for Lady Hornet Volleyball at Brown County High School. Since many were not very experienced at the sport, they did not have a winning season. But, the Lady Hornets kept their spirit high and their attitudes were good throughout the season. They all showed great effort and ability at handling the ball. The cheerleaders at B.C.H.S. have went through some changes this year, but they are still on top. They started out the year by changing the number of young women they had on the squad. Increasing, from 5 to 8 in junior varsity, and decreasing from 6 to 5 in varsity. After this, just before the football season went into full swing, they received a new sponsor, Bonnie Sorrels. Over the summer they spent one week at UCA's (Universal Cheerleaders Association) summer camp in Carbondale. Illinois. At the camp they won various ribbons and the most outstanding squad award, which is the highest award that can be obtained at UCA. Although they finished their cheerleading season with basketball in the late winter. They have their cheerleading tryouts for next years squad every spring. Leslie Kropp, Jennifer Boyer, Rachel Wade.
