m 50 i At the 50’s Dance there were three over-all contests. The divisions were best dressed, coolest, and nerdiest. A boy and girl was chosen for each catagory. The winners were: coolest — Angie Heaton and Jon Boylen, best dressed — Jennifer Quinn and Ron Wort, nerdiest — Melanie Welty and Andy Holler. Two other contests were also held. The Twist Contest” was won by Andrea Shaw and the Limbo Contest was won by Kelly Codner. During the evening, music from the fifties was played by the “Mobile Sound and Light Show. Poodle skirts and rolled up jeans were a common sight as the students had to be in costume. Contest Winners: Jon Boylen. Angie Heaton, Jennifer Quinn. Ron Wort. Melanie Welty. Andy Holler Ahh. a sweet serenade I'm not going to make it! Isn't he special? 14 Old Mt Sterling We're oft to see the wizard!

Eric and Becky len and Rachel Ed and Stacy Front: King — Ed Barfield, Queen — Becky Barfield Back: Len Wiese, Stacy Welty, Eric Ebbing, Rachel Wade, Mike Hendricker, Susie Noble This year's Sweetheart Ball was held earlier than usual. It was on January 24, but that didn’t change the spirits. Everyone enjoyed the band “Classified” and the bright pink and red decorations. While some people were getting their pictures taken with their dates and best friends, others were dancing to their favorite songs. Coronation started at Mike and Susie 1986 King and Queen 10:00 Pm- Thue representa- Ben Moore and Cathy Schneider tives from the Freshman class were Susie Noble and Mike Hendricker, while Stacy Welty and Ed Barfield represented the Sophomores. The Juniors voted for Rachel Wade and Len Wiese, and, the Seniors chose Becky Barfield and Eric Ebbing. When the votes were in, the winners were Queen — Becky Bar-field and King — Ed Bar-field. This was the first time in Brown County history that a brother and sister were chosen at the same time. 16
