VO-TECH PROGRAM VOCATIONAL-TECHNICAL EDUCATION PROGRAM AT BROWN COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL Our Vocational-Technical program has been changed and enlarged to better meet the needs of the students at Brown County High School. The curriculum now offered includes five areas as well as Agriculture and Home Economics previously offered. At present. Business Education, Industrial Arts, and Automotives are a part of the program. In addition to part or all of the various areas being offered at Brown County, we have a cooperative Vocational Education program with Rushville and Astoria. The Auto Mechanics courses are being taught in new, up-to-date facilities at Brown County. Welding is taught at Astoria. Building and Trands and part of the Home Economics program is taught at Rushville. Regular meetings to suggest ways to improve, to coordinate, to evaluate, and to plan for the future are being held by the teachers envolved, the Cooperative Coordinating Council, and the Vocational-Technical Advisory Committee. 42 samj STUDENTCOUNCIL ROW 1: Mr. Humphrey, Patty Nelson, Bob Webber, Steve Koch, Steve Hurst. Sterling Fall Festival. It won the Grand Marshal Award for the best in the parade. The club then sponsored a show called The Chase. The pizza party came next and then the trip to St. Louis with the Future Nurses of America. While in St. Louis the two clubs visited Barnes Hospital and Olin Library on the Washington University campus. The profits from the bake sale on St. Patrick's Day made it possible for us to sponsor the dance on April the sixth. The dance band was KO-KO Holler. Several members of the club went to Hamilton, Illinois for the Mississippi Valley Student Librarians Association. A member of our club. Penny Winner, was elected first vice-president of the association for 1973-1974. For the club's final activity it had a party for all club members. 50 FUTURE FARMERS OF AMERICA Star Chapter Farmer Ken Koch OUTSTANDING AWARD MEMBERS, LFT.
