These men receive many complaints and criticisms which make the life of a board member very trying. Apart from seeing that the teachers do their job, they must also satisfy the parents and the public. The board uses a code book of laws in determining school policy. They have an essential place in school management, a duty often unappreciated. They furnished music and entertainment for the Brown County Fair and Prairie Farms Cooperative annual meeting. Three concerts, varied to suit several musical tastes, have been given through the school year. The Tri-County concert has become an annual affair and Brown County was host this year. The band participated in Homecoming activities at Western University and Culver-Stockton College.
