Majorettes: Linda Phelps, Linda Brooks, and Kay Cleaves. BAND The Brown County Band, under the direction of Mr. Frank Neal, had a very eventful and successful year. In the summer before school started it played at the State Fair and received a 2nd rating. They also won the Governor's trophy. It entertained the fans at most of the home football and basketball games. On March 29, the Band played at the District Contest in Canton and received a superior rating. This entitled it to enter the State Contest at which an excellent rating was received. On April 11a Tri-City Concert was held in the Brown County Gymnasium which included Rush-ville, Beardstown, and Brown County. The last concert of the year was a Spring Concert on May 11.
