Students who enjoyed the art of competition but were unable to compete on the varsity level found that intramurals provided an excellent opportunity to use their athletic skills. Besides the team sports of football, basketball, and softball, individual activities such as bowling, tennis, and golf were also provided. Coach R. L. Landers led men's l-M, and Miss Elaine Gavigan co-ordinated the women's activities. Although averaging over 85 points a game and yielding less than 80, the 'HORSES ran into difficulty winning on the road. While the SEAHORSES lost only two of ten games in the friendly confines of borrowed Stranahan High School Gym, they could only master three of eleven road opponents.
