BRONC05' 8:45165 UA!! After an outstanding football season, most people expected very little from the basketball team here at Brophy. However, there were a few believers, namely Coach John Chambers and his team. As it turned out, they had the pleasure of the last laugh as the Bronco cagers rolled to an l l - l record and the Skyline A-League crown. They entered the division playoffs favored, and behind the play of all- league player Jim Dodenhoff defeated Moon Valley. However, they then fell to the Cortez Colts 68-66 in overtime and again the following night to Apollo, thus ending their hopes for a berth in the state tournament. The year was especially profitable from the standpoint of experience gained. The team was led by a fine crop of juniors, among these were Greg Taylor, Larry Seppelfrick, Rick Miller, Eric Darcy, and Bill Kennedy. But, as with most teams, the seniors were the mainstay. Key players were Kevin McCann, Paul Fanta, John Frost, John Fournier, and Chris Bayley. Next year the Broncos should be strong with five returnees, two of them starters from this yearts squad.
