Brophy's track team has once again been laced with talent. The total number of points does not accurately portray the teams quality, though . Mike Hopkins demonstrated this with his ren- dition of the Fifth Fastest time in the state. Bro- phy'.s 440 relay, with soph Sean Kelly, also proved worthy with the eighth quickest state time. Brophy took more first-place finishes in most meets, but, because of our small size, other schools gained more points overall From sec- ond-and third-place finishes. The team also profited because Eric Peay, John Sterrer, Bill Coady, and John Eurich participated. Each of these added many First place trophies. - v A. I

The Brophy Linksmen, under the direction of Coach Trevor Stinson, began the year with many hopefuls. After qualification rounds its number was reduced to eight. Senior Jeff Largay, and Sophomore Jeff Stevens led the pack with Bob Pederson, John Butler, Russell Dickey, Curt Car- penter, Brian Batastini, and Sandy Germain, the team's lone freshman, who, despite age, played in a number of matches. The team has had a suc- cessful season and looks forward to an even bet- ter record in the future when the team is a little older' - Curt Carpenter
