It is the year 1972, and the Class of 1952 is assembled for a reunion for the first time in twenty years. Walking amongst all our former classmates we come upon a grey-haired individual, Bruce Anderson, whois doinga rip-roaring business as suc- cessor to the notorious WIIIIE Sutton, having turned his knowledge of bookkeeping to good advantage as a bookie. Walking a bit further, we run into a haggard looking woman, Joan Fauskee, who, in her better days, married Brooten's richest and most handsome Businessman, Lord Albert Verhoeff. Their twelve children are now attending the local schoolg the eldest, a senior, Is carrying on her mother's reputation. Well, look who's here--none other than John Halverson. Although he is only 38, Hal has already retired. He tells us he made aII Els 'ca55ageH selling moonshine in some deserted nswampn near Padua. Before going any further, we should stop and lis- ten to the orchestra before the director collapses under the weight of his baton. He is none other than uHot-llpsn Gildemiester. I wonder who that big fellow is sit- ting over there tapping his foot to the musIc--why, it's John TeBrake. He surely looks different with all that added weight. He told us he Eas triplet boys who are all stars on the local basketball team. Those triplets must bea family inheritance. Getting back to some of the distinguished female members of our class, we find that Donna Glieden 1sn't married et! After joining the Air Force, the only thing she fEII'Tn I5V3'w1th was a P-26t Look at that poor crippled old man. Why, it's Chester Anderson, who now has a farm in Canada. Although ill and worn out from hard TEFE'IEb5rT'E5'Has monetary compensation--at the moment he is seen lighting his ci- gar with a twenty-dollar bill. Next we run into Delbert TeVelde. He came all the way from Fairbanks, Alaska, for this reunion. He'55EgEt E'TE?E'up in Alaska, and for the last two years-has served as mayor of Fairbanks. It is said that he has done everything in his power for the promotion of education. Walking a bit further, we bump into another equally famous member of the class, Em ett Jud e. He is the present mayor of Spring Hill, His car, of 1928 vintage, is IH'k33pIng with the progress of this little hamlet, In this year of 1972 you will see that anything can and does happen. Our classmate, Barbara Terhaar, is now addressed as Madam President. She is the first woman president of the United States, having been elected on the ticket ofa twelve- month school year for all students. Across the continent, everyone is in an uproar nowadays as Kenny Terhaar has just taken over where Harry James left off CBetty Grable not inc u edf. It's impossible to pick up a paper without seeing a picture of Kenny blasting out at you. Our quiet and dignified Jeanette Roone has picked a most worthy calling and is now a nun at Little Falls. 'SEE'EEHoys Her life there very much. Another of the class who is giving her services to society is Dr. Marlgs Nelson. She has just opened up a cat and dog clinic in Brooten, and has a s eady stream of patients. Dorothea Gerlach surprised all her classmates by appearing at the reunion manless. Ift5F EoEpIEtTig normal school, she has kept busy and happy teaching in a rural school south of Brooten. When asked why she is still single, she replied, nHerbie and I believe in long engagementsin MY, d0SSn't Yvonne look nice. However, she is turning gray, but 1t's really no wonder when she Has to have eight kids trailing her wherever she goes. She is now living on a farm in North Fork. Looking around further, I see Ral h Heieie, looking in the npinkn on health with a bald head to match his ruddy coipIgii5ET He told mehe has his own thriving businessin Roscoe, butis going to give it up because his wife and children don't like the hectic city life in Roscoe. Walbert Peters and Clinton Holt, partners in an exclusive cafe in New York, are enjoyTEg'tHeTFVEtEtion at tHIs reunion. They certainly look sharp in their white uniforms and caps. One of our classmates, the former Edith Hoo eveen, is unable to attend the re- union as she is home washing diapers. However, she sent greetings to all by way of a picture of herself and their second set of triplets, Argyle, Carl, and Murray. We hope this gives you an idea of what the years have brought to the Class of 1952. Looking back on our school days, we hope that all the succeeding classes may have had as happy years in Brooten High School as we did. 37 BROOTEN HARDWARE R. L.
