BROOME’S DYNAMIC DUO Roger and Irene, you've been chaperones at many student functions. You have given a great deal of time and a part of yourselves for the students. When graduation forces us to depart, memories will part with us. Memories of your guidance, understanding, patience, and laughter. These will be some of the best memories we take with us. A diploma is only a piece of paper, but Roger and Irene, you're the friendship and leadership that will never tear or fade away with age. May those who come to Broome after us, learn to understand and appreciate you both the way we of the Citadel do. The Citadel Staff thereby dedicates a part of themselves to you through this small dedication in the 1975 Citadel.

Roger, as a chaperone you're great You always bring your smiling face You better start slowing down You're wife can’t keep up with the pace The work you do for Circle K And the pleasure you give us at night At mixers and movies and semiformals Roger that make the Dedication about right. Irene you're like our mother, After the years it took to get away from the grasp of home life you put us back in the nook You're concerned about us I guess you always will be And when we graduate Perhaps then you'll set us free.
