FRANK M. CHAMBERS We’re Sorry He Left. . . but We’re Happy for Him On March 10, we were all surprised to learn that our Dean, Dr. Frank M. Chambers, had resigned to become presi- dent of a new two-year community college in New Jersey — Middlesex County College in New Brunswick. His resigna- tion was effective July 1, so he finished out the school year with us. He served Broome Tech with distinction in many capaci- ties since 1957 —first as director of admissions, then as dean of students, and finally as dean of the college. He is a grad- uate of St. Lawrence University, earned his Masters degree at Cornell, and received his doctorate from the University of Florida. He was a Navy man, too, and in fact still is, as he recently rose to the high rank of captain in the Naval Reserve. That is his biographical background. But there is much more to this man than these mere facts. Peggy Telfer, editor of Tech Talk, our campus newspaper, expressed the student viewpoint well in her April 9 editorial, which we reprint below. We agree, and we too shall miss him.
