But to the mature person it is much more than a few laughs, a good time, and lots of fun. There is much more substance to true happiness. A sense of accomplishment is part of real happi- ness. And that’s one of the reasons that one’s college days can be the happiest time in his life. There are many good times, and in addition there is the satis- faction that comes from achievement, from learning, and from being transformed from a youngster to an adult. As students of Broome Tech, we worked hard during the 1963-64 school year, and we had many pleasant times too. Together these all added up to produce the kind of happiness that we shall always cherish and look back upon with great joy and satisfaction. That’s why we have made happiness the theme of the 1964 Citadel.
