Just as years past, our pres- ent brings us times for pleasant memories. This 79-80 season was bustling with activities which surfaced to make BHS take a step forward to the birth of the new age. From the old fashions of yesteryears to the chic fashions of today, we celebrated our l980 Homecoming. The peak of activities came with the crowning of Miss Susan Lee as the reigning Homecoming Queen. Miss Lee is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otis Lee of Lake Wildwood. Susan enjoys playing the piano and marching as the head majorette here at BHS. 2 ' 0 0 14 The way is not in theory. The way is in the heart. 1, if U hh,e Fl W' . 5, f 9' h .P . I5 nn rg . At the beginning of the year only two players had played organized basketball beforeg but after losing the first six games of the season. the team pulled together and began a tremendous turnaround. The cause of the change was the improvements in all players. Speaking of players, James Foster was the best offensive player, who averaged l0.4 points a game: Shawn Odell was the shot block- ing king who blocked seven shots in one game. Others adding to the reversal of the season were: Jerome Scales four assists a game Gary Taylor Scott Cham- bliss Scott Shattuck all great defensive players and Mark Cook whose outside shooting warmed up in the stretch of the season and helped the B-Team Panthers to a 34 point average per game. LJ Junior High Basketball is the first step on the ladder to varsity achievement. To be a junior high player one must have determina- tion and the willingness to learn. A player must learn not only the skills needed to play the game but he must also learn to accept defeat along with the victories. Through the season the BHS Junior High Basketball team dis- played all these aspects of leader- ship by closing the season with a 6-8 record.
