The ECHO staff asked the seniors to write down their favorite experiences at BAHS. These were the basis for this yearâs senior section feature, âA Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Twelfth Grade.â The Senior Class of 1977 Well, Paul, according to the directions, it should explode any second. One day everyone got to class early (a new one for the class). After each of us received one paper cup, we waited. When our teacher entered the room, we sat with our Animal Farm books in front of our faces. Thinking we were busy reading, she let out a satisfied sigh. At that time everyone put down their books and she let out a shriek. Everyone was sitting honking and oinking with snouts on. All through the years the Class of 197G bullied our class around, always acting like they were kings and we were their servants. When they left this school they said we, the Class of 1977 could never match them in any way. By the time we started selling magazines, we decided this was our chance to put those old show-off seniors in their places. With Mr. Mester as our fearless leader, we worked for our cause. Then, finally when the big day came, when we matched and surpassed the old goal, we bad proven to everyone which class is the best and will be always, the Class of 1977. -- pu l Q Kim VanSteenberg discovers once is not enough when reading physics. The most embarrassing thing tnat has happened to me was my sixteenth birthday. Some of my classmates and I get together and pull gags on each other for birthdays and I'm usually the instigator. They got me on my birthday but good. I received from the gang a little set of unmentionables and a very sheer, pink nightie. I hid them in the very bottom of my locker. Throughout the day I was also hit with signs and a stuffed locker. But the clincher happened before sixth period. The gang hung the nightie and the unmentionable on my door and again stuffed my locker. I went to my locker, opened it twc inches, slammed it shut and guarded it. There were about eight teachers and forty kids around my locker and I wasn't going to open it. Then Mr. Marshall came over to me and asked me what wa6 in my locker. âNothinâ was my reply. He politely put his arm around me, pushed me away and opened it wide. Red, wow, was I embarrassed! Everyone was being entertained at my expense. Jennie Kozak Janet Hoffman Linda Irwin Michael IIolben Betty Ishman 64 Ronald Ishman Teddi Kammerdeiner Cindy Kelso Dennis Johns Kelly Kalgren Dorothy Mcfcjlhinny brushes up on her varnishing. The most memorable moment for me was after gym class. I ran down to the locker room and undressed. Rob Noe said, âThere are girls in the universal gym. I responded âSUREâ and naked as a jaybird, headed for the shower. The universal gym door opened and out came the girls. After the shock had gone away, I did a perfect swan dive into the shower. Joan Chadowski tries the impossible, a j sharp on her b flat clarinet The time was the day before the annual Christmas Concert. The place was the BA1IS gym. I had left my music in the band room, so I asked the new student teacher if I could go and get it. She said yes, and pointed in the direction to which I was to go to get my music. It was toward the boysâ locker room. I thought it a bit strange, but I reasoned that since we were practicing in the gym all classes were cancelled and there would be no boys in the locker room. Well, 1 was wrong. All gym classes went outside for the day. Even with this realization of no gym classes, 1 still hesitated at the door. Taking a deep breath, I entered. 1 was half way out when all of a sudden I heard footsteps and deep voices. I panicked! Then I remembered there is a door to the girlsâ locker room. I ran for it. It was locked. I turned and was pressed up against the door. Suddenly, a stream of undressing boys came running down the steps. They all started screaming, âItâs a girl. Oh my gosh, itâs a girl!â Then the whistling started! As soon as I could, I ran up the steps with whistling and screaming echoing in my ears. We were to look at several different beakers of chemicals, some acids and some bases. It seemed everything was moving too slow so one of the well-behaved students decided to switch two of the beakers. The idea moved quickly so several others were moved around. Then the time came to test our nerves. The teacher took one of the beakersâone we had movedâand had us stick our fingers in it. It might be an acid!! If it was, we were not physically safe. Then our teacher told us that it was to feel slippery. It didnât and we told him so. Then we decided that we had better agree with him so that he would not become suspicious. It is funny now but not when we had to stick our fingers in an unknown liquid!! Jo Guth 1 Who knows what evil lurks in the heart of Dee Dee Sibley? Mr. Sebring just told Twila to point the can the other way next time. Mark Mills Through the years we were divided by peer groups, 3ports and activities. But when it came time for our magazine sale and our prom, we became one, not a certain group of friends, but a unified class. Julie Moore Concert Choir is full of memories: dressing for rehearsal, getting ready for trips, hearing screams of âHow do you tie these stupid ties?
