The class of 1956 chose Wayne Wolford not only because he was our favorite teacher, but because we regarded him as a friend and confidant. We knew that we could always depend on him when it came time to find a sponsor for some pet project, or when we needed advice concerning our problems--whether they were social, scholastic, or personal. In our class, his humor brightened even the most dismal days. When we weren't giving news reports, we were usually in deep meditation. Therefore, not only from the members of the Ushers Club and the Student Council, but also from the entire senior class, we extend our heartfelt appreciation for Mr. Wolford. FAVORITE TEACHER 7

We, the class of 1956, feel that our dedication should be given to one of our unsung heroes, Without him we would be minus a friend and a conscientious custodian. Herb Weirick has looked after the aches and pains of Brookville High School for ten years, and we feel that he has been an essential part of our high school experience. Many a day was brightened by Herb's friendly smile and cheery Hello. Then, too, all of us will remember his many responses to our emergencies. No matter what time of day it was. Herb was always working hard, trying to make our school a more pleasant place in which to work. We thank you, Herb, for helping to make our memories of B.H.S. pleasant ones, and most of all, thanks for being a friend to us all. 6 DEDICATION

OUR CLASS SPONSOR Words cannot express our deep feeling of gratitude for Mrs. Butler. As our junior English teacher, she worried because our grammar was bad or because our book reports weren't complete. As our sponsor, her headaches included howto raise money and how to decorate the gymnasium for the prom. When we became seniors, it seemed as if we needed her help and advice even more. First came the problem of what the girls should wear for their pictures, and then where we should go on our senior trip. Any credit for a successful prom, banquet, or class play, must be given to Mrs. Butler, for without her support and perseverance none of it would have been possible. In leaving, the class of nineteen hundred and fifty six is very proud of its accomplishments, but more proud of its sponsor, Mrs. Elizabeth Butler. 8
