5... MR. AND MRS. CHARLES ZUCK - at home A MESSAGE FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT The theme Come Walk With Us is an invitation but one which implies an obligation. Those issuing such an invitation should know where they are going and be sure they are traveling in the right direction, The twelve years of schooling which the class has just completed has been designed to guide the students along the right route and prepare them as thoroughly as possible for the journey. How well this has been done depends upon the seriousness of purpose of the students, the efficiency of the school system, and the dedicated efforts of the various teachers who have exerted their influence over the course of the years. We hope it has been done well The school is, however, only one of the agencies responsible in this endeavor. The other two great institutions, the church and the home, have perhaps exerted a still more powerful influence. Of course, in the last analysis, students, teachers, and parents alike must depend upon something beyond human power for guidance. William Cullen Bryant expressed it thus: He who from zone to zone 1 at Guides through the sky thy certain flight Will, in the long way that I must tread alone, Guide tny steps aright. GEORGE MC KJNNEY and family - at home THE PRINCIPAL SPEAKS MARILYN RCBENBERGER S6CI'eI3.I'Y Come, walk with us through thehalls and classrooms and participate in the activities of our school is a well-chosen theme for the 1957 Brooklet, for I am sure all of you will in your memory go over the year many times. As you look through this edition of the Brooklet, you should be re- minded of the worthwhile activities in which you engaged during 1956-57. Some of you will probably recall your failure to achieve the success which might have been yours, with a longing to go back and do better. Father Time, however, will follow you relentlessly. As he does, you will gain not only in age but also in experience and knowledge. This pursuit of you by Father Time will cause you to re-evaluate 1956-57 many times. However, as you change your evaluations and mellow with age, Ihope that most of you will look back on 1956-57 as one of the grandest years of all. 5.
