The purpose of the club is to help the teachers in presenting audio-Visual materials to their classes by booking films, delivering the projection equipment to the classroom, making the equip- ment ready for use, and actually showing the film. S' X1 . A. A. ACTI ITIE There are three ways a girl may earn points for an award in G.A.A. They may be earned for unorganized sports, skill tests, and organized sports. Every Tuesday and Thursday noon hour is devoted to organized sports. In G. A.A. there are five seasons. The first is softball and individual or partner sports such as ping pong, bad minton, shuffleboard, tennis, and horseshoe. The second season is basketball Teams are chose.n and two games played each Tues- day and Thursday, Square dancing is the next activity. Square dancing sets may be made up of girls from any class, Volleyball follows with class teams com- peting. The last sport of the year is track, For participation in any or all of these sports, a girl earns ten points for each sport played. To earn extra points a girl may play unorganized sports. If she plays each of three sports for one-half hour each week for six weeks out of a nine weeks period, she receives five points for each sport. Hiking, dancing, bi- cycling, basketball, softball, and tumbl- ing are a few of the many unorganized sports. Extra points may be eamed by skill tests. These are taken on special testing days or outside school hours. Five or ten Points, depending on the test, can be earned in this manner for each test. However, points for only five skill tests can be earned each year, The first award given in G.A.A, is the G.AA. pin for seventy-fivepoints. The second is the silver basketball for one hundred fifty points, given only to a sophomore, junior, or senior. The third is the letter and ntunerals for two hlmdred fifty points, given only to juniors and seniors. Chevrons may be earned for additional points.
