The purpose of the Future Homemakers of America in Brookville High School is to promote a growing appreciation of the joys and satisfaction of homemakingg to emphasize the importance of worthy home membership, to encourage democracy in the home and community life and to promote international good will. The club emblem consists of a house supported by two hands symbolizing that the future homes of America is in the hands of its youth. Their colors are red and white, symbolic of youth and homelife. Their flower is the red rose, which stands for a vibrant, glowing health, which contributes to happiness in the home. Their motto is Toward New Horizons. It expresses the purpose of the organization.

THE STORY OF THE B. HIGH SPIRIT IS YOUR STORY. THE NEWS 1'1 PRINTS IS THE NEWS YOU MAKE. The B. High Spirit made its first appearance, January 1, 1921, Since then, we have advanced from a circulation of 200, to 850 copies. To learn how our paper comes into being, here is the process it and we go through, ever two weeks. First, the facts of a story must beobtained. Reporter Anna Lewis is accomplishing this, as she interviews Mr, Zuck's secretary, Mary Lorenz, Glenna Venter, ably assisted by Peth Preston and Carolynn Clinton, demonstrates the nerve shattering job of typing the story. Each issue must be planned, as Co-Editors Bill Runyon and Shirleen Estridge portray. The type-written copy is sent to Conners- ville, where it is made into proof. A group of Journalism students correct mis-spelled words and errors, which are usually present on the proof sheets. Coinciding with proof reading, the dummy is being pasted up, by, Joyce Tinch and Gloria Hale, who are the managers of this sticky job. After the dtunmy is completed, back to Connersville it goes, and returns this time in 850 copies. The papers are folded and then dis- tributed to the students. Our down town routes are distributed by our circulation staff, shown starting from the school. - The B, High Spirit is now in its thirty-sixth year of publication We hope to bring you the news firsthand for many more years to come.
