The Brookville Chapter is a group of sixty-one vocational agri- culture boys whose aims aretodevelop agriculturalleadership and to become good citizens. FOLLOW THE GLE The Hi-Y is oneoftheschool's smallest organizations, and yet it is one of the most worth while, Purpose- To create, maintain, and extend throughout the home, school, and commtmity, high standards of Christian character. One of the most impressive events of the year was the joint formal initiation of the Hi-Y and Tri-Hi-Y. Officers of Hi-Y are: Bob Cly, President, Ron Hofer, Vice-Pres- identg Calvin Finch, Treasurer: Bill Runyon, Secretary: Charles I-limes, i Sergeant-ab Armsg Larry Sheets, Chaplain. The Tri-Hi-Y Club is one of the oldest organizations in Brookville High School. It is a part of one of the outstanding youth organizations in America, The local Tri-I-Ii-Y Club is a part of the state, national and international YMCA Movement. It is now a world-wide organization with clubs organized in cities and towns all over the world, Purpose- To create, maintain, and extend throughout the home, school, and community, high standards of Christian character. Motto-Pure thoughts, Pure words, Pure actions, Membership this year- 121 girls fromthe sophomore, junior, and senior classes. Tri-Hi-Y members can look back on a year filled with many activities, hard work well done, and managing concessions for football games on rainy nights. They have many memories to treasure, the beautiful Induction Service, the Christmas activities, the Spring Conference. and the wonderful fellowship of the club members. They can remember good times as they Followed The Gleam through this eventful year. The purpose of the Future Homemakers of America in Brookville High School is to promote a growing appreciation of the joys and satisfaction of homemakingg to emphasize the importance of worthy home membership, to encourage democracy in the home and community life and to promote international good will. The club emblem consists of a house supported by two hands symbolizing that the future homes of America is in the hands of its youth. Their colors are red and white, symbolic of youth and homelife. Their flower is the red rose, which stands for a vibrant, glowing health, which contributes to happiness in the home. Their motto is Toward New Horizons. It expresses the purpose of the organization.
