STLIDE T GOVER ME T Students in Brookville High School are privileged to have a form of student government through which they can express their ideas and wishes. The Student Cotmcil is the voice of the students in matters dealing with changes in school policy. Also, the many activities the high school participates in on a student level are carried out by the Student Council. Each year the Student Council organizes into several standing committees. It is through these committees that much of the routine work i.n the school is accomplished. The bookstore and the information desk are two examples of the work carried on by standing committees. The largest and most important of the standing committees is the Ethics Committee, Meet- ing independently ofthe Student Council, the Ethics Committee guides and counsels students who are continually disobeying school rules. Another of the major activities of the Ethics Committee is the Church Attendance check it has made in recent years, Members of the Student Council and Ethics Committee are elected from the student body and it is through the work of these students that the many things the student body expects are accomp- lished. nywfwfcl fffjvt, President . r' ' I s, 'cm OFFICERS: Ron Hofer, President, Seniorg Paul Otto, Vice-President, J uniorg Janet Evans, Secretary, Senior. Its work is carried on at monthly meetings and by standing committees. The purpose of this organization is to bring the teachers of this school into closer relation- shipg to establish and maintain conditions essential to the best teaching serviceg to secure for its members the social, intellectual, and professional advantages that can be derived from co- operation: and to create in the community at large a deeper sense of interest which the teachers represent. During the school year 1956-57, the organization has held two social functions. A picnic was held at the beginning of the year so that teachers old and new could get acquainted. A dinner party was held a short time before Christmas. The fact that all teachers of this school have become members seems to indicate that they believe the B, C. T, A, to be a worthwhile organization. Y . f! 14' Q 6 XC, President .... ,------W.....----- Yfeig..--,-lf,1i::r:fA-M -:F
