EDI CATI CN We, the class of 1959. wish to dedicate our yearbook to our good friend, Mr. Edwin Noessel, better known as 'Edd1e'. We wish to thank him for the many times he has helped our school. We would also like to thank him for allowing us to use his store as a 'clubhouse' during our noon hours and free time. Many thanks, nEddien, from the Class of '59 fa' all the favors you have done for us in the past and for the great amount of interest you have shown in the school over the years. We would also like to express our appreciation to Clarence Fowler, one of our bus drivers, for the many years of driving us to and from school and school activities It has been said that the true mark of greatness lies in the memories that one leaves behind him We, the Class of '59, can assure you, Clarence, that we shall always remember you with love and gratitude ss! In a small school such as ours there is usually a rapid turnover of teachers If such is the case, the chances are that the graduate of a few years ago will be merely a folder in the files to the teachers of today This means that the teachers, not knowing the student, cannot add a personal note to the transcript in favor of that person They must tell exactly what is in the folder, be it good or bad It is too late for the seniors to do much improving, but the underclassmen still have time to improve I am sure that in some way each of us could improve ourselves As we seniors look back over our four years at Brooksville High, have we made good records to carry with us for the rest of our lives? Let us hope tm we have and that those coming after us will make even better ones 'ht the information found in their records and to forward it to K- n I 4. 41 9 I I4 4 1 Frank W Bates, Principal Elizabeth D Bates B S in Arts and Science A B in History Colorado State University Colby College raster of Science Waterville, Maine University of Massachusetts Ralph M Berry H B. By this I mean the student should feel free to have a minister of his fa1th.help him and work with him and his teachers to secure the most informative and happy life possible. Anyone who wishes to succeed and be a credit to the world must neat only work hard andbe willingto endure hardships, but he must seek the faith and the guiding hand of God. nFaith can move mounta1ns.n Remember it takes only as much faith as a grain of mustard seed to succeed. I believe a student who has had his minister and teachers working hand and hand with him will be a man of responsibility and dignity in this everchanging world of ours. If everybody went by the Bible and accepted its teachings that all men are created equal, we would not be facing these dim tasks in the South, and in everyday life, we are.now facing The solution to the problems confronting our nation lies in the church and in our youth People will have to accept these teachings of the Holy Scripture in order to make these social disturbances disappear To dothis, all our youth must attend church and learn the basic ideas of God's teachings, but above all he must learn how to love and get along with his fellow men. The old saying, 'United we stand, divided we fall,W will really determine the success of the future of the world If the people choose to remain prejudiced and think themselves superior to one another, our world will not be a very pleasing place in which to dwell. The mostimportant thing which I have to say is based upon the importance of going to church. Itnotronly makes one feel closer to God, but a part of a team striving alJ.for one goal. I believe that if everyone stopped and thought of the little quote I am about to repeat, our church congregations HOI11d increase considerably Remember the Creator gives yomz a a week, give Him back one hour.n We must make God a steadying influence upon the younger generation This can be accomplished by simply starting our children in Sunday School and having them become accustomed to the teachings of God In my opinion, the worst tragedy is that the teachers and ministers do not remain in one place long enough for the children to gain confidence in them. The next stop after Sunday School should be a youth church move by our very able minister, Mr Dale True After the youth movement age has been passed, the child should develop into a fine church member By a fine church member, I mean a man who is well educated and one who thinks for himself, knowing right from wrong. He is one who is looked upon by the comm unity as an engine and not Bcabgose, If O ment. For example, the M. Y.
