' 1 T Leigh Hnne Ellis The Flward LUinning Middle School Cheerleaders Mrs. Halverson The Middle School Cheerleaders were busy before the school year even began. The squad spent part of July at the National Cheerleading Flssociation Camp at Fiuburn University and won four blue ribbons and two red ribbons while learning many new pom-pon routines. Flllison Hayes and f-lvery Cheves spent even more time at a cheerleading camp at Columbus College. Christy Cliff was captain of the squad and Flvery Cheves was the co-captain. Their sponsor, Mrs. Sherry Halverson, said, The girls are new and so am l. She was proud of the cheerleaders who she said, put forth much time, energy, and effort. lllhen asked if she liked the idea of separate pep rallies she replied, l feel like the Middle School is its own school and not the Upper School's little sister. I think we should have our own pep rally. The cheerleaders in their new outfits increased enthusiasm and spirit at the Middle School football and basketball games. ill f-lrchana Hoganti 88 SPC?
