The 1960-61 Bomber netmen posted the best won-lost record 119-'71 for a Brookston team since 1954. In addition, they captured three tourney titles--the Chalmers 4-Way, the White County Tourney, and the Sec- tional. The Bombers finished the Midwest Conference campaign with a 5-4 mark. This makes the second year in a row for Brookston to win the Sectional. The Bombers had some anxious moments in all three tourneys, but always came through with their patented second-half finishes. In the County tourney, the mighty Bombers had to shake off three determined teams to take the title--the first one since 1955. In the Sectional, Brookston had to defeat four of the toughest teams in the tournament in Monon, Francesville, Wolcott, and Reynolds. The Bombers lost to a tall Monterey team at the foul line in the Regional. All in all, this has been a most successful season, and Brookston has a right to be proud of the team, cheer- leaders, managers, cheer block, and of course, our two excellent coaches, Mr. Spear and Mr. Nierste. 1960-61 BASKETBALL RECORD 'BROOKSTON BROOK 'BROOKSTON ROYAL CENTER BROOKSTON CHA LMERS BROOKSTON MONTICELLO 'BROOKSTON WOLCOTT BROOKSTON EAST TIPP BROOKSTON DELPI-II 'BROOKSTON KLONDIKE BROOKSTON IDA VILLE CHALMERS 4-WAY BROOKSTON REYNOLDS BROOKSTON OTTERBEIN 'BROOKSTON FRANCESVILLE WHITE COUNTY TOURNEY BROOKSTON 50 BUFFALO qrinaly BROOKSTON BROOKSTON ' BROOKSTON ' BROOKSTON ' BROOKSTON ' BROOKSTON BROOKSTON BROOKSTON BROOKSTON BROOKSTON BROOKSTON BROOKSTON BROOKSTON Midwest Conference Games -20 66 BURNETTSVILLE 63 MONON 49 KENTLAND 85 FOWLER 65 MONON 68 CAMDEN 76 FLORA 54 BATTLE GROUND SECTIONAL 49 MONON 61 FRANCESVILLE 57 WOLCOTT 63 REYNOLDS REGIONAL 58 MONTEREY 53 56 fFina1J 58 74 53 57 67 45 44 54 51 55 fFinalj 68
