'W' 4' 7173 THE LEADER FY Class Prophecy Working on a newspaper in the year of 1942, I thought I'd look up my classmates and see what they were all doing and how they had prospered. Down in Palm Beach I accidentally picked up a paper and learned that the United States Ambassador to France was in that city. The name of Walter Young was familiar, it may have been a coincident of names, but on closer inspection of the picture I recognized my old class' mate, Stub, That night attending the opening of one of the best shows in town I instantly recognized the three inseparable pals, Rosella Gubeno, Leona Gallagher and Bernyce Jungbluth. They were the same old flashing and happy trio. Later I went to thc dressing room and we had a nice time talking about Brookside High School. They told me that Mary Lou Reed was an M. D. at a Florida hospital and was renowned for her work. They also imparted that johnny Owen was famous as an auto racer, and was still single. The next day I left for New York. Cn the train the young woman sitting next to me looked familiar. Juanita Traxler! After greetings we exchanged news. She told me that she was married to an electrical engineer and was very happy. She also im' parted the information that Luceda Manchester and Mildred Reeder were joint owners of a large clothing salon which all the rich women patronized and they were doing very well. Good luck to them. I continued on my way and reaching New York in the evening I thought I'd take in a movie. I sat in the darkness of the theatre resting when I saw a name flashed on the screen, Joseph Welter. When his picture was shown I knew he was my old friend. He was the popular impersonator of Clark Gable, the once great actor. Our Joe played his role like a veteran. Even outshining Clark Cable in the love scenes. I left before the crowds and in the lobby encountered Elaine Poor. She recognized me but I didn't know her. She told me she was waiting for her husband who was manager of the theatre. I congratulated her on her good fortune. She looked happy and pros' perous. She told me that Bill Reeder was chief Radio Operator on one of the biggest ocean stcamers. I was glad to hear this as I knew Bill liked radio. I left New York for the old home town. I wanted to see what Luella Mackert and Virden Maddock were doing. Luella, I met at her old home, but she was only home on a visit from her duties as manager of a large department store in Cleveland. I asked her if she knew where Virden was. She told me that she was out West in Hollywood taking a leading role in a comedy. I was wondering if she had met joe as I was mentally arranging a match between them. It was nice to hear good news of all my classmates so I went back to my work with renewed energy. ANGELINE NARo, '32. Ii .iii ill. .LL ,.1!. SI. Twenty-Two

Uur Champs The Brookside Girls Basketball Team of 193162 hrought to Brookside its first girls championship, winning all their games. The success of the team was due entirely to the wonderful spirit shown hy every memher of the squad. The aim of the team was to fight hard and play clean, and fair. A great deal of credit goes to our coach, Mr. McConihe, for through his co' operation the squad learned not only the technical side of the game, hut also good sportsmanship in its true sense, He was always ready to pull us through the hard places. Next year's prospects are very good, although the squad will miss the four seniors, who will graduate. They are Virden Maddock, Rosella Guhcno, Bernyce junghluth and Leona Gallagher, The 193283 Squad will he led hy June Rath as captain, They will be hard to heat, as they have already shown their fighting spirit in practice.
