FOOTBALL I 943 OUR days before the beginning of the Fall term twenty four boys reported for practice Because of the early graduatlon of more than half of thls year s sixth form only three lettermen were present at the first day of practice Desplte thlS lack of experlenced material the Splflt was fine and we all had high hopes for a successful season On the second of October we played St Mark s away and lost by the unfortunate score of 27 o The next week we made up for our defeat by beatlng Browne and Nichols 20 6 Two weeks later we took on the Cambrldge School and after trailing o I2 at the end of the first half we exploded in the last two periods to win 20 I2 We played Johnson High on the thlrtleth of October and succumbed to one of the best teams they have had 1n years 40 o We H111 and although wantlng x ery much to win we were sadly trounced 31 0 Mr ackson d1d a great Job 1n formlng a respectable team out of abnormally green material we are all extremely appreclatixe of his tlreless efforts Bromley and Waller were elected Co Captains of next year s team but neither will be here 1n the fall so that an actlng captain will haxe to be chosen The xery best of luck is wished next year s team by those who are leax ing LITTLETON W T WALLER II 45 flctzng Captazn 28 9 , - . . . , , . 7 ' , . , , . , 9 ' ' 2 , - 1 9 ' Q , ' u , ' I played our final game on November 13th w1th our tradltional rivals, Belmont s 7 2 s ' ' L Y 5 - Q , 1 . 1 ' 7 . .
