No longer Green Freshmen, we have now attained the title of Silly Sophomores. Loving adventure and activity, we greatly enjoyed the field trips which ended with a nice collection of insects and flowers. We can't begin to tell you how proud we are of the Sophomore basketball team, which took the honors of inter-class tournamentg but after all, why shouldn't we, with two first team players like Ray Cook and Jimmie Martin. During the year the class enjoyed a Wiener roast, Hallowe'en and Valentine parties, at which everyone had a grand time. The class entertained at Christmas with a play Christmas House. We'll be seeing you next year as Jolly Juniors.- I ADVISERS MRS. CHARLES DAY MR. HOWARD TRAMPE Page twenty-tlwo

GILTNER In the beginning of the nineteen hundred and forty- sixth year of our Lord, in the ninth month and on the fifth day of the month. there entered into the land of learning, twenty and seven seekers of knowledge. Some came up from the eighth grade where they had for many months, been busily engaged in storing their minds with the honey of wisdom and some were green and fresh from a far country. And it came to pass, as they did enter this land, that they were received with welcomings and rejoicings by those who it was decreed, should henceforth lead them up slippery by-ways of knowledge. Likewise, it came to pass that they were received with malicious glee by a certain band of wild beings called Sophomores, and who, because of their fierce taste for freshman blood, did harass and haze them daily and did cause them to suffer great things. Many and successful were the activities during this year--parties, dramatics, and outstanding salesmanship in magazine and victory bond drives. As they dwelt long in the land, they fell in with the customs of the inhabitants thereof, and their strangeness wore away, and they each became as one among the rest. S0 endeth the freshman year with great pride and ambition. Page tfwenty-four
