I I William D. Slider We, the class of nineteen hundred and sixty, hereby dedicate this yearbook to lVlr. William D. Slider, whom We consider to be not only an excellent teacher, but a devoted sponsor, an admirable friend and a highly respected person by all who know him. He joined the Brooklyn High School faculty in 1956, the year in which we entered into the realm of high school life. It was at this time that he became one of our sponsors. As most of the students know, Mr. Slider teaches subjects in the commercial field, his favorite subject being bookkeeping. He takes a great deal of pride in his profession and is always ready and willing to aid those students who come to him for help. Whether it was selling tickets at football games, attending our dances or guiding us at class meetings, he was there, ready and willing to aid us in every way he could. The main project of every class is the Junior-Senior Prom. which takes place in their junior year. As a class sponsor he was of the greatest help. It Was during our Junior year that We faced our biggest problems and were many times ready to give up. That was the time we realized his true value. He advised us, lifted our spirits and guided us on to complete one of the nicest proms Brooklyn ever had. As each of us goes our different Way, We Will look back, and when we do, we will never forget the teacher who always had a smile and a helping hand for the class of 1960, Mr. William D. Slider. 2 w
