Brooklyn High School - 9200 Biddulph Rd. 96 pages RRCNIKLY W TITLE I 60 SENIORS GRADUATE For the first time in the history :f Brooklyn Schools, a class of sixty students will graduate on June 7 of he 1955-56 school year. Many members of this large graduating class are planning to go an to college. Others will take jobs n offices and plants, and several will be married. In the following years, the classes 'ill increase until, in 1961, the lresent seventh graders will grad- ite with a group of almost 130 -.udents. Mrs. A: joy CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY WON BY 55-56 TEAM The West County Championship was won by Brooklyn High School this year for the first time. It was presented to the team after they defeated Strongsville. The trophy was presented to the school for the school trophy case by captain Jim Crytzer, on March 23, in behalf of the team. The trophy stands 2' 3 high and is a beautiful addition to the school trophy case. WEST COUNTY CHAMP- IONSHIP WON WEST COUNTY CHAMPS The season opened with a game against defending champions Cuy- ahoga Heights. This was an ex- citing game as was most of the games during the season., lyn came out on top in thisi game with a score of 47-41: The' Hur-T ricanes went on the next three games against Independence, North Royalton, and Strongsville. Then came Brooklyn's only league defeat against Cuyahoga Heightsfp The Hurricanes hit on a very low per- cent of their shots and therefore were beaten 44-37. They won their three remaining gamesf to end up with ,a season record! of 7-'1'.-to win the County Championship for the second time in thewhistoryfdf the school. ' Q . e agletv Newspaper Staff Be ins the Year In the headlines this year is the graduation class of 1956. As the motto clearly states, they have entered to learn. Many of them are charter members of the group from the early elementary grades, others joining in junior high, and still others in the recent years of high school. Working together on extracurricular activities, producing plays, functioning to- gether in team sports, and adjusting to various personalities has afforded them as ex- tensive an education as has the academic opportunities offered to them.
