NEWSPAPER THE ,, 44411: ll C642 ' wi +95-:Tl as ' assi? 'fm 5 A ., 5. .....4 J, lwyiv. 9 , edit FRIENDS SCHOOL, BROOKLT Editor, Business Manager, and Advisor Grace vonAu, Marilyn Edelman, and Mr. Burdsall The Life, the student newspaper, is one of the most important activities of the school. This publication is conducted by an Executive Board under the wise, patient guidance of its faculty advisor and guardian angel, Mr. Benjamin R. Burdsall. This year, The Life was headed by Grace Von Au, Editor- in-Chief, assisted by Robert Feldman, Joanne Hirsch and Judy Leopold as Associate Editors. Marilyn Edel- man was its Business Manager. The paper is financed by advertisements solicited by the members of the business staff. Each year an effort is made to expand the scope and effectiveness of The Life. The addition of diversified feature articles has helped in this direction. These have included articles on members of the faculty and critical reviews of books, plays and motion pictures. These fea- ture articles have provided new interest in the news- paper and have given the staff new opportunities to express themselves. The final make-up of the paper, every three weeks, requires careful planning and the combined effort of the entire organization. Each article is proof -read and head- lines are composed. The articles and advertisements are set up in the dummy as they will appear in the final printings. All this is accomplished by the staff working together to achieve the final result, The Life.
