Administrators will not alter it, students will not protest it, and unions will not grieve. Why? Because each of these groups were part of the decision- making process prior to this final faculty meeting.” “First, this process creates a feeling of unity and community in the school that cannot be equaled by the most charismatic leader making near perfect, unilateral decisions. A camaraderie begins to develop when people lay their opinions out on the table and then care enough to battle over them.” ‘Another reward from the process lies in the quality of the decision made. 4any points of view are considered for each decision and with it comes nore data than might be collected if you operated in isolation. This extra .mount of information, coupled with the extra time usually allotted to •articipatory decisions, helps to assure that decisions are well thought-out. ssues never die in this participatory process. Change can grow slowly rom within, instead of being imposed from above or outside.” 141 AKERS Ms. Johnson Mr (jrady HOUSE Ms. Delaney Ms Bard Mr. Wehb PACKARD HOUSE Ms. MaeGillivray Mr. Cradle 142 LINCOLN HOUSE Ms. Caulfield Mr, Waldron Mr. Reynolds Mr. Fedennan Ms. Kean ROBERTS HOUSE Ms. Smith Ms. Davis Ms. Nicolai 143 PUPIL SUPPORT Ms. Cradle Mr. Ciopen Ms. Gustin Ms Hard ,A Ms. Horwitz Ms How man •Ms. Jacobson Ms Hram Ms. Kraus Mr. Goldberg Ms. Thompson ADULT ED. But. throughout the year we were faced witli some tough setbacks. F or the hall of the season F’hil, one of (he captains, was out witli mono, but he returned to go undefeated. 1-or the second half of the .season, Doug Murphy, the other captain, who also had a winning sea.son, was out with a broken wrist. However, with the efforts of (Jerard, Steven, who placed fourth in the suburbans, Ben, McC’arthy, Aaron, Mike, and Sudsy. We made our coach proud by qualifying as a team for the state tournament. In the beginning, the Hoys I ' raek team had no eoaeh but alter the lirst week, the coaches were there and it was time to get down to busi- ness, Our lirst tneet against Cambridge and a victory would be needed to have a suecesslul season. We lost to the reigning suburban champs in a hard fought meet. Led by captains Andrew Gordon, Phil “the Danger” Moy, and Hen Crawford, the team won four of there last five meets to end 4-2, Some standout performers were Rolando “Poohey” Mendez, who jumped six feet six inches, Rico Reardon, who was strong on the 50 yard dash and the shotput, and IA te Wilson was impressive in the hurdles, Antoine, who was naturally stretched, loved his fresh Addidas, Rae Siskind ran the 500 meter run, but the race was only 300 meters long. Many felt if we were to lose, we should lose in style, Hecker always found the Pavil- lion too bright. And after the holding the title for three years. Hen Crawford was finally be thronged by Mark Carroll as the skinniest runner, Gordon, Moy, and Crawford were the perfect examples of great captains. They each had a lot of talent which scored many points for the team and they were excellent motivators for the team. Everybody looked up to the three as the head of the team, and showed due respect, Gordon won the 600 each meet, Moy was im- portant in the 50, and Crawford won the 2 mile or l(X)0, each meet. We partied, we skiied, and we rolled a Jeep. We were the Senior Steering Committee and our prom was not cheap. We wore cuffed Girbauds, sold carnations, and looked cool thru it all. We played football on Sunday, and boohed umps on bad calls. We remember the Gordon’s Birthday Bash, and Sanvilles party too. We drank lots of beer, ’cuz we are the Beer Viking Crew. From summer leagues to indoor leagues, lax was really great, but in 1987 such was not our fate (0-17). From Steve, Tim, Dave, Andrew, Ben, John, Dennis, Phil, and Mike: Thanks B.H.S.! To our parents and teachers who helped thru it all, we just want to thank you ' cuz we had a ball. 267 mm THKBOOriSFWUSEIM TWE LIBRARY BUILOWG ONLY J n This bridge will only take you halfway there To those mysterious lands you long to see: Through gypsy camps and swirling Arab fairs And moonlit woods where unicorns run free.
