1947 Looking back upon twenty-five years of significant progress, we agree upon this symbol as best expressing youth full of grace, force, and fascination . The fleet figure dashing across the triangular shield represents youth accepting life ' s challenge: to con- solidate gains, overcome weaknesses, and emerge triumphant from the fight in the finest cause in all the world — the struggle for the betterment of mankind. High above his head, symbolic youth holds a scroll, universal emblem of knowledge and truth whose influence will guide him. It is our hope that in the pages of this year- book our readers may find a faithful reflection of Brookline High School ' s young people as they share in youth ' s search for knowledge and truth. page three
