Hnd wma s1'lL.l. NUMBER 200 years ago today We've been hear- ing that phrase a lot during the past year. Our country is celebrating its two hundredth birthday. We really do have a fascinating- history. We started out as just a dinky little nation consisting of thirteen states insig- nificant to most of the world. Through toil, sweat, and hard times, we've worked our way up to being the number one country in the world today. Wow, when you think about it, we really do have an awfully lot to be proud of. There's so many good things about America . .. the freedoms, the oppor- tunities, the way of life that we lead. Of course the United States, like anything else, has some not so perfect things about it, too. But because of the Bicentennial Celebration we've all become more aware of the good side of life here the worth while side . .. the America we love. This is how it is at B.C. We started out in 1931, with a very small student body. Slowly and surely we worked our way up, through the years, until we became what we are today . .. the best high school around! We've come a long way! This year the school popu- lation totaled 1900 people. As with our coun- try, we really do have lots of reasons for being proud of our school. just think about it. For instance, our sports, posted winnings that were the envy of many other schools. Our baseball team was second runner up in the state, our girls volleyball, fifth in the state, and the football team ranked among the top ten in the state! And that's just the beginning. Think about our activities pro- gram we have everything from a math club to a flying club. Remember all the events that took place the play, the pageant, Homecoming, the dances, the Catfest, the concerts, etc. Ours is a school of participation by the students in order to form a more perfect union of Bearcats. In this, your 1975- 76 memory book, we'd like to show both the good times and the bad. The people in this book are special and they made this a very special year! V

HUMEEUMI li El The Brookland Cayce Band prepares to perform their opening number dur- ing pre-game activities. One of the favorite attractions of Homecoming '75 was fifties day. Here, some slick students show off their daddy-O selves! Seems like almost everyone left their mark on the Crafitti Board during Homecoming Week. 8 Homecoming was definitely one of the highlights of the year, for most students. So many unusual and fun activities took place that every- one remembers it well. First, there were the special days set aside, such as fifties day, spook day, and slop day . .. all were big successes. Cat- fest '75 was held on Wednesday night, which was a combination pep rally, comedy show, and dance. A parade took place on Thursday, after school. The week came to a climax Friday night, when Pam McKnight was crowned Homecoming Queen. The Fighting Bearcats came away with an important victory over Aiken, as Homecoming '75 came to an end.
