Government by Student Council Mel Henrichsen Student Body President Mel Henrichsen congratulates Lloyd Wilson, 1959-1960 President as Garda Vaughan and Dick Fergen assume duties of Vice-Presidents First Row: Marsha Cline, Carol Christopherson, Margaret Frost, Jo Anne Beatty. Second Row: Larry Kallemyn, Lynn Riedesel, Garry Myers, Orville Smidt, Doug Searls. Third Row: Andre Larson, Roger Teal, Dick Danielson, Mel Henrichsen, Lloyd Wilson, Don Spawn, Dick Efthimiou. Democracy in action. . . Mel Henrichsen, Student President, presided at all assemblies and council meetings. Mel has been active in athle- tics, excelling in football and track. The Council is made up of an elected member from each ofthe fifteen home rooms. Constructive suggestions are considered care- fully by the student representatives and, when possible, are honored. The Bobcat Day dance and after game dances were sponsored by the Student Council. Rural eighth-graders were escorted about the build- ing on their special visiting day, and the selection of the Northwest Assemblies to be given next year were two of the Council's projects. Discussion of the formation of a Pep Club was tabled. The project of most importance to the students was the adoption of a code of dress which was accepted by the School Board with com- mendations.
