Descending into the middle of a mysterious tangle of events as result of a theft, Mr. Butterworth sees and straightens out this situation with his much belated arrival as the new owner of the hotel. Are you Mr. Butterworth , a mystery-comedy, was presented by the Junior class, March 22, and profits defrayed expenses on the prom and banquet. The cast was: Robert Wilkins, Dan Meredith: Carol Gilkerson. Helen Worth: Bob Taylor, Mack McGinnis: Margaret Sorensen, Virginia Blair: Jim Sprague, Tom- my: Verlyne Tufty, Kat: Rosemary Miller, Sylvia De- Lany: Gladys Linn. Mrs. Benson. Leona Hollaway, Arabella VanCleve: Walter Sharp, Mr. Leon Bashinsky: Anna Belle J ohnson, Katrinka Roden: Robert Koerper, Mr. Butterworth: and Craig Christie, Telegraph Boy. The production staff chairmen were: Business mgr. Wayne Johnson: electricians, John Taylor, Ray Poula: stage crews. Don Back: stage props, Doris Solberg: costume, Charlotte Allen: make-up, Elaine Friedrich: prompters, Lucille Beckman, Donna Eddy: advertising, Barbara Revellrushers, Ken Wyman. Miss Madge Dietz directed the play.

'WEADED FOR EDEN THE PLA Y'5 Sr. Play Cast: Second Row: Jack Earley, Stanley Corlett, Dick Nagle, Darwin Paul, Roger Smith, John DeWitt, Paul Hansen. lst row: Cherian Burdett, Margaret Petersen, Beverly Rude, Joan Smith, Agnes Jornlin, Patty Deyling, Rosella Peterson, Lolita Lund, Twila Olson. Absent, Ardis Eken. On November 30, 1945, the seniors with their class play Headed for Eden broke all records of attendance, performing before a house of 1,400 people. The play told the story of the struggle to keep a young man. J ack Earley, from having to pay for some- one else's crime. Margaret Peterson and Dick Nagle held leads, but it was Roger Smith, playing the part of a crippled tramp, who gave the most lauded drama- tic performance. Roger's short scene. aided by well planned lighting effects, made an effective climax. Everybody pitched in to help Jack. The setting for the story was a roaming house whose proprietor, Agnes Jornlin, and her very attractive roomers - Lita Lund, Cherian Burdett, Patty Deyling, Beverly Rude, Rosella Peterson, Twila Olson, and Ardis Eken-became novice sleuths. Joan Smith and Paul Hansen cut capers while Darwin Paul solved the case. John DeWitt was the money-man and Stan Corlett, the muscle man. Play production staff chairmen were: Business manager. Horace F ishback: electrician, Lloyd Hansen: costumes, Lois Oleson: make-up. Charlotte Gustavson: prompters, Darleen Allen, Elizabeth Fuller: advertising, Jim Hanson: stage crew, Marvin Peters: prop., Donna Richards: ushers, Stan Rymerson. The play was directed by Miss Madge Dietz. '

During the year the club enjoyed a pheasant dinner, a play review, an educational movie, and a theater party. The high school swing band, The Pied Pipers , played for the Christmas O Ball. Meetings are planned so that every other one is educational, the alternate, social. Awards are given on a point basis. The winners appear below: back row: Roger Smith, Margaret Petersen.
