asuxuuun 0.1455 Husrnrur S 4' - The luves of all great men are fulled wuth both hops and mushaps So ut us wuth the mughty Class of l959 Strangely enough the mushaps seem to predomunate Therefore we ve gone on our calamutous but hularuous way for eleven eventful years, and now we ve almost made ut At least we have hopes of havung all our names on the Graduatuon Program on May 29 We can funally rest a munute and stop wonderung uf Those Teachers are really goung to let us out on that day Lookung back, we seem to re member that ut has been a wonderful twelve years Take the furst grade for example Our teachers lust knew that here was a promusung class They could tell by the effucuent way we set about our sputball fughts and funger paunt wars ln the second grade we furst enloyed the dustunctuon of beung an older class We were stull able to spell then and our teachers marched us through the furst grade rooms wuth our perfect spellung papers settung a good example for the luttle ones duscovered the multuplucatuon tables home work and the talents possessed by some of us Our favorute grouo was the boys who sang In The Luttle Red Schoolhouse In the fourth grade we were untroduced to The Eught Parts of Speech and the Ductuonary agaunst both of whuch we are stull strugglung Thus was also the tume when the gurls began to develop crushes on the boys Some of the gurls fell so hard that they chased the same boy around the playground for a full week ln our fufth year we were the oldest class un the grammar school We became untellec tuals, and expressed our feelungs artustucally by pauntung on the paper covered blackboards of our rooms Some of our scenes wull never be forgotten, but not we re afraud for artustuc merut The suxth grade and we came to the hugh school Some of us took ut by storm, whale others took sux months to fund the rest rooms A few of us were smart enough to fund Mr Roach s offuce the furst week But some how those few never found the way out We were taught the evuls of alcohol and note passung and presented our furst chapel program Those of us who were not crushed un the halls during our suxth year went on tothe seventh grade We were allowed the thrullung experuence of changung rooms each peruod i Every hour we charged boldly forth unto the halls tryung to remember what Mr Tramel had saud about the settlung of Mussussuppu and wush ung we could get away wuth chewung gum un Mrs McNaur s room Who wull ever forget the eughth grade'7 Mrs Marr was so dussatusfued wuth our lut erature grades that she ran a contest between our classes Agreeable as always one class won the furst contest the pruze beung a trup to Jackson and the other class won the second a party guven by the losung class The nunth grade and hugh school at lastl We were green as grass, but no one was less aware of ut than we Complaunung about all the work we had to do was a favorute pastume If we had known what was comung most of us would have elected to be permanent freshmen We ll always remember our sophomore year Muss Smuth unformed us that we were sophustu cated morons and we set out to prove Mr Webster and our Englush teacher wrong Most of us dud lust the opposute We seemed to have an uncontrollable urge for doung the truangles theorems, and unexplauned buolog ucal terms We really shone as uunuors Despute the fact that the Thanksguvung game was played un You Know Where we sold enough mums to guve our long awauted Junuor Senuor banquet We were so proud of our beautuful decoratuons and orugunal theme orugunal except for the fuve other schools that we later learned had used ut There wull never be another melo drama luke the one we presented at the banquet at least we hope not That was also the year that several of our classmates succumbed to the luttle boy wuth the wungs and bow and arrows Senuors our last year We sold at the ball games un the raun and the cold had a memor able Homecomung un spute ofthe bad weather, and really hustled our Chrustmas cards We worked on the annual gave chapel programs and through ut all managed our term papers and algebra We ve had a great basketball season and a unuque Senuor Play Some of us wull outdo any soap opera heroune when we leave and we ll all feel a luttle sad One thung us certaun there'll never be another twelve years luke these nobody could luve through ut Katherune Roberts Class Hustoruan 1 - ,T I n 'v' .
