Senior Class History Startlrng wrll be the adjectrve rn hrstory books for the years 1957 1958 the lnternatronal Geophysrcal Year whrch has gtven brrth to a New Age that of space travel Startltng rs the adjectrve whlch mrght also be properly applred to the greatest and most unusual Semor Class ever to leave the portals of B H S the remarkable class of 1958 Never once rn the twelve years srnce these boys and grrls started out together tn the fxrst grade have they farled to startle everybody The f1rst grade where thrs class got 1ts start was a very memorable one The grrls thought rt much more fun to play on the boys s1de of the playground and v1ce versa In the second grade we startled our teachers wrth our beautrful drawrngs copred from lvlrss Blue s unforgetable Mother Goose character palntrngs Well we lrked our plctures anyway Multlplrcatron tables' The thrrd grade proved a lrttle more strenuous on our mrnds and we actually had to study a lrttle Our fourth year ln school was one of those years that no one w1ll ever forget The boys drscovered grrls and the g1rls drscovered boys Valentrnes and candy were grven The g1r1 who got the most valentrnes thought she was queen of the day lt seems the frfth grade was to be our last year 1n grammar school That year was wonderful too The trapezes proved a grand perch from whrch the grrls watched the boys football games Opera glasses helped also The teachers of the frfth grade mopped therr brows and srghed a l1ttle hoprng the srxth grade teachers were ready for such an altogether drfferent class They must have been for rn the grade of srx we really had to put out some effort and hard work to make those top grades We drdn t all make the best grades ever but the srxth d1d turn out a few so called genruses Who could forget the seventh grade? If It s fun you want to call rt all rrght but fun was hardly the word for the grade of seven We were ln Jumor hrgh school we had the best partres ever one homeroom of our class won a half hol1day for wrnnrng the March of Drmes sale and thrs grade was the f1rst mam step towards our goal Graduatronl The Actrvrty Butldrng was the mam gather1ng place rn the erghth grade At recess and dmner we trouped 1n to s1t around talk and catch up on the act1v1t1es of the school rn general Freshmen' Ye old green freshmen' But we loved bemg just that Don t let anyone say that bemg a freshman was play because rt was much more than just fun There was work 1n there too As nrnth graders we started gettlng rnto the swrng of thlngs The football games meant more to us our studies were taken a lrttle more serrously than before and we really started behavmg as rf we had a lrttle sense The Jump from Freshmen to Sophomores wash t too great but ll was a step forward to that long awarted goal As Sophomores we began to reallze that we were really growrng up and we started takrng on our responsrbtlrtles wrth a drfferent attrtude In the tenth grade the boys put on an all boy play whrch was really a rrot Actmg was just one of the many talents possessed by our boys and the glrls too for that matter We startled the teachers of the Jumor Class w1th our get up and go durrng the mum sale for the Thanksgrvrng game Remember gettrng up on that cold Thanksgrvmg mormng to del1ver those many chrysanthemums'P And then that afternoon whrle beggrng the fans to buy cokes and hot dogs we saw our Panthers l1ck the McComb Trgers Man' That was l1v1ng' Even though II has been eleven years rt seems as though those years have sped past wrth the rapldlty of a rocket Now we are standing on the threshold ofthe future Our Semor year has come and gone We are ready now to step out 1nto the great wtde beautrful world Sellmg at the ball games and workrng on the annual were the very serrous hrghlxghts of the year l-lomecommg was the best yet and our Semor play won t ever be topped we th1nk We ve come a long way from our wonderful partles begrnnrng rn the seventh grade to the equally wonderful partres of our Semor year Our Semor year has been the best ever and eyen though we ll go our separate ways the Semors of 1957 58 wrll never forget each other or our school Dear old B H S It s the greatest and always wrll be' Sally Lou McKee Class Hrstorran ,, . ,, . . . , . . . , 1 11 - 11 - - - f - - - - -- ' 1 ' ' . . . . 1 1 ' , . , . . . . . , 1 . , . - 1 1 , . . . , . , . 1 1 1 ' 1 - - 11 - .1 1 , . . , . . .
